Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the smallest and biggest sized pipe that this can fit around?

A: The Avenger C4462 MP Coupler with 5/8" (16 mm) Spigot BH #AVC44621 is compatible with pipes from 1.65 - 2.0".

Q: 2. What is the distance between the two sets of mounting holes? Would these work with the rear mounting points of the Genelec 8010 speakers by chance?

A: The distance between the holes in the horizontal position is 4 inches. As for distance between the holes on the vertical end, the top hole distance is 1 1/2" while the bottom hole distance is 2 3/4". Unfortunately, this plate hasn't been tested with the Genelec 8010 speaker to our knowledge, so your results may vary.

Q: 3. How does this really work? It seems like the cameras would just flop around and bang into things.

A: This harness mostly keeps the cameras at bay but if you are running then you may have to keep them pressed against your side to avoid them bouncing around.

Q: 4. Can the spigot be removed and updated to me longer?

A: yes by unscrewing the allen bolt.

Q: 5. If I have a large light (like a 300d or a 120d) and I need it very close to the ground is there any reason I couldn't just put the light directly into this base?

A: This can be used by the 120d or 300d.

Q: 6. How sturdy is this item compared to the Kupo KS302011 universal floor stand? Does it hold items solidly / steadily or do they wobble around?

A: This stand is very sturdy when mounting a light to it.

Q: 7. is the ball swivel removable? leaving just the base and ball rod on ceiling?

A: The swivel can be removed, but it may be difficult to re-install it.

Q: 8. I have same problem but regarding the second answer here, how to create: "extra cushion to create friction effect"? any picture or link please?

A: You can wrap gaffer tape on the pipe to cushion it

Q: 9. What is the weight limit?

A: This can hold approximately 6-7 lbs at the most.

Q: 10. I'm 5'7/150 lbs. Should I get a standard fit or slim fit?

A: I would recommend the slim fit given your height.

This nice little piece of brass fits between my Manfrotto backlight stand and my Photoflex litedisc holder. I use it often in the garden with a reflector for fill when doing macro work. The litedisks also work as backgrounds. If the wind picks I, I add a sandbag.

I find I cannot have too many of these. They hold much better than screwing two studs together. They greatly expand the light and modifyer mounting possibilities in my small studio.

I use this to mount speedlites or modifiers to various stands or modifiers. It is solidly made and there seems to be little variance in dimensions in the several I own.

I was fortunate to come accross a professional Manfrotto tripod and lighting tripod as a gift. The only piece missing was the spigot which on my own would have been difficult to find (I didn't even know it was called a spigot). But as usual the B&H staff knew exactly what I was looking for right away based on my description. I received it 2-days later and I'm havig a blast using all my new equipment. B&H is the best!
