Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. When aktiv series heads are fitted to non-Flowtech tripod like Sachtler CF-100ENG 2CF, would it work with all the legs completely spread out and make a flat platform like the Flowtechs do?

A: Yes. As long as ground or mid spreaders are removed.

Q: 2. Is this compatible with the original flowtech legs?

A: Yes it is. As long as the legs are 75mm bowl this head will work.

Q: 3. Can this be used with manfrotto legs? Will any functionality be lost?

A: no, currently it is only compatible with Sachtler legs. Sachtler is developing accessories in order to make aktiv compatible with other tripods as well.

Q: 4. Is the aktiv8 head compatible with Manfrotto 501PL plates?

A: It is not. This is not compatible with 501PL style heads.

Q: 5. does this fit any 75mm tripd leg ?

A: You will need the Sachtler aktiv Bowl Connector for 75mm Bowl Tripod. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1597846-REG/sachtler_s2080_0001_connector_for_aktiv_75mm.html

Q: 6. Is it possible to convert an activ8 to an activ8T and vice versa?

A: It is not possible to change the plate style of an Sachtler Aktiv head from Side Load to Touch and Go. However, You could add an adapter like the following to add a Touch and Go plate style to a side load head. https://bhpho.to/39qGwSK

Q: 7. Would the aktiv10 work with Miller Sprinter II 2-Stage Carbon Fiber Tripod or any other brands' tripod legs such as OZEN 100CF2 and Camgear CF2?

A: You should not have any issues connecting the Sachtler aktiv10 head to tripod models that have a 100mm bowl mount. There should be no problems mounting the head on any of the tripods listed.

Q: 8. I have original FlowTech 75 legs. Why isn't the "metal bowl insert" described as included with the aktiv6 head in the "what's in the box" listing? Without that, I can't use aktiv on the FLowTech legs - trust me, I've tried.

A: Yeah I did. My point is its NOT in the box. I bought two of them. Shipped them to SachtlerVitek service in Connecticut. They didnt install or upgrade anything. Returned my Aktiv heads. I dont think they have this issue addressed, at least in the US.

Q: 9. Is there an adapter for the slider for the 100m head yet?

A: We expect the adapter to launch some time in August.

Q: 10. Does this work with arca Swiss plates or manfrotto pl?

A: No it does not. Sachtler has a unique plate.

Purchased for contax G2 to use 58mm filters. Doesn't seem to interfere with focusing functions.

Strong and sturdy. This step-up ring allows me to use my 77mm filters on a 67mm threaded lens. I also have the 52mm, 58mm and 72mm rings. Nice alternative to buying separate filters for all my lenses.

Nikon Company made new camera DL24-85 f/1.8-2.8 Digital Camera which has filter thread 40.5 mm. And I have two FujiFilms converters for E-Series with thread 43 mm: TL-FXE01 1.94x Tele Conversion Lens and WL-FXE01 0.76x Wide Conversion Lens. Because of using the 40.5-43mm Step-Up Ring I can use both converters with camera Nikon DL24-85 f/1.8-2.8 and receive 165 mm and 17 mm in 35 mm equivalent. Currently I don't have this camera and want to check up its functions at the next photo exhibition or in Nikon store in Moscow. I shall inform about results after testing.

My filters are brass, which doesn't lock up that easy. These are aluminum, which can. I just make sure to not tighten them too much. Hasn't been a problem so far. A lot cheaper than buying multiple filters.
