Designed in collaboration with Greg Mackie and Peter Watts, the Korg SoundLink MW-2408 is a full featured, hybrid analog/digital mini-console for easy creative mixing, well suited for bands, musicians, recording studios, houses of worship, broadcast applications, and more.

The MW-2408 utilizes some advanced designs and features including Peter Watt's HiVolt microphone preamp, which includes Trident technology and provides a rich warm sound that delivers low noise and high headroom, as well as musical EQs and dynamics. There are four easily programmable and recallable mute groups that allow you to instantly call up different combinations of channels for songs, a solo acoustic number, various groups onstage, a drum solo, and more. There are two more-me musician's headphone knobs, which utilize a single-knob boost of the complete L/R mix into the musician's individual track. This affords the mix engineer a simple solution to boosting the monitor signal without having to change the main mix or take up an extra bus.

The MW-2408's digital side provides quick and easily accessible DSP without frustrating menu diving. Easily assign equalization, limiters, compression, and gating to L/R, Aux1, and Aux2. The tweakable effects are effective without sounding harsh or exaggerated and all parameters are easily recallable. Couple this with an onboard 31-band spectrum analyzer, and a 31-band / 9-band ParaGraphic EQ, and you've got a powerhouse of mixing problem solvers wrapped up into a pint-sized package. Furthermore, the mixer features high-quality, proprietary Korg custom and ultra-realistic digital effects. Thoughtfully designed throughout, you'll find all your standard effects. What's more, all six reverbs include warm versions for an even bigger pallet.

The rear panel includes eight mono mic/line inputs with XLR or 1/4" inputs, while the stereo channels include a mono XLR mic input and stereo paired 1/4" inputs. XLRs are used on the main outputs as well as the aux outputs. Additionally, there are 1/4" main outs and 1/4" outs for Aux 3 and 4, as well as group outputs and the monitor output. The Korg SoundLink MW-2408 includes iZotope RX 7 Elements.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What can be said about the clock accuracy on this unit? I own a Zoom R16 and have also worked with output from their other recorders. Loading to my NLE, there is always large drift over an hour recording (e.g. a full second+) I'm hoping this is better?

A: Thank you for your question. I spoke with Zoom directly and they do not have a measurement for clocking accuracy but they did say that the improvements over the R16 are vast and you should not have any noticeable drift

Q: 2. Can you connect a camera to the master out? Like a canon c100m2?

A: Yes. Just so long as the camera has a LINE level input.

Q: 3. inputs 9 and 10, are used to feed stereo audio from a laptop using 3.5mm to rca cables?

A: Yes, input channels 9 and 10 on the Zoom LiveTrak L-12 - 12-Channel Digital Mixer & Multitrack Recorder can be used to connect a line-level signal from a stereo source using either the RCA or 1/4" connectors, so you can use a 3.5mm TRS to dual RCA cable to connect the 3.5mm output from a laptop computer to the L12.

Q: 4. The audio recorded on each track is Raw audio (pre faders and or EFX) or is recorded after process? Thanks

A: The recording is pre-fader and pre-effects. It can also be pre-compressor, there is a setting for that. So yes, it is RAW . The other person who answered is wrong.

Q: 5. Can I output the audio using xlr or 1/4" trs to a speaker? I want to use this for DJ but not sure if it will work or not

A: You can connect the main outputs of this unit to active speakers, with a 1/4-inch TRS connection, with a cable such as the Pearstone PM Series 1/4" TRS Male to XLR Female Professional Interconnect Cable (15'), BH #PEPMTRSXF15. The mixer has many features aimed at people maing podcasts, but if you are planning to DJ and stream out to a computer, or to record your set on to an SD card, this would be a good option for you.

Q: 6. Do all tracks bypass onboard effects when recording 20 separate tracks to a SD card for import into a DAW for post production? I want to mix live with effects to FOH and monitors, but record all tracks without any effects for later import and mixing.

A: All individual tracks will be recorded without any effects applied. If recording on the Master track, all effects will be heard on the recording to the Master track, but not on the individual tracks. The individual tracks can be set to record pre or post compressor in the Menu of the L-20.

Q: 7. Can the L20 be powered using a V-mount battery (nom 14.4 VDC). What is the acceptable supply voltage range?

A: The Zoom LiveTrak L-20 comes with a Power Adapter, it is not compatible with battery power.

Q: 8. Can I connect my studio monitors from the xlr outputs to the trs balanced cable?

A: If your active studio monitors have a 1/4-inch TRS balanced input, you can use cables such as these: Pearstone PM Series 1/4" TRS Male to XLR Female Professional Interconnect Cable (10'), BH #PEPMTRSXF10.

Q: 9. Can you load a mix to two tracks and have it there for others to more add tracks later?

A: Yes, you can import a file (such as the master bounce of a mix) into a project using a USB flash drive in USB HOST mode. After importing a file, you can use all other open channels to record more tracks.

Q: 10. Android phone attached to the mix-minus. usb-c adapter to trrs?

A: You can use a basic adapter like the Comica Audio CVM-SPX-UC 3.5mm TRRS Female to USB Type-C Audio-Interface Cable for Android (B&H # COCVMSPXUC) to connect your Android phone to the mix-minus TRRS input. The L8 comes with a TRRS cable to use together with the USB-C adapter.
