The Gobo Plate from Matthews is a versatile mounting adapter designed to interface with 2.5" grip heads and flat surfaces.

The plate features thoughtfully spaced holes for bolting on a wide variety of equipment. A standard 2.5" grip head slots into the groove at either end of the plates to securely lock down, and it mounts and releases smoothly thanks to the funnel-shaped receivers. Accessories with either 3/8" or 5/8" bolts are compatible. The plate provides flexibility in situations where space is at a premium by rigging it to a C-stand column to add an extra point for flags and scrims. It is an adaptable solution for mounting microphones above talent or cameras for tabletop shooting. Multiple scattered screw ports allow the Gobo Plate to easily integrate into wooden beams, apple boxes, or other surfaces and building materials. Matthews has conveniently machined guide notches along the side of the plate for accurate 45° mounting.

A: This has only two attachment points. One goes to the device being mounted, the other to the mounting platform. So I am not seeing a way to mount two cameras with this. I think the Vanguard Multi-Mount 6 Tripod Utility Bar B&H # VAMM6 is more of what you will need.

These are wonderful to have in the studio.. The base that matthews makes for these is not so useful because it is too lightweight for most of what i do.. I had my own heavier larger base fabricated and it does the trick. 5

Had been wating some sort of tabletop stand and after looking arlt Fisso stands that are insanely expensive I stumbled across these... while not as easy to use, once you have the feel, these are with every penny... will buy more! 5

What you can do with this product (and the rest of the set of course) you cannot do with any other product on the market. It is tiny but holds rods strongly. It also looks nice! 5

I have an audio follow cart that I've used for recording on location. For years I've attached a reticulated arm with a pony clamp to hold a flash light to provide enough light to write audio notes after each take. However, when that arm would break, it would do so at the most inopportune times, and generally on a dark set. When I saw the Matthews MICROgrip system I realized I had found a small, portable, stable and durable solution that I could use not only on my audio cart, but in my home studio and other work settings as well. I set it up with a Matthews 12 vertical rod, a MICROgrip head, and an 8 rod screwed into a Manfrotto Nano clamp that secures a Streamlight Stylus Pro flashlight. The entire set-up is rock solid. The base is heavy enough so there's no chance of things tipping over. Just a heads up--the base is a 1/4-20 thread pattern, so make sure you order the appropriate MICROgrip rods (don't buy the 3/8-16 male end rods, they won't fit into this base). Matthews quality in a mini-me package. This set up will likely outlive me. It may be overkill to hold a flashlight, but it sure looks cool. 5

I've purchased Matthews MICROgrip multiple times in the past 10-15 years. It's great to have on hand for holding small flags and reflectors as well as positioning props and subject items for product photography. I'll always give MICROgrip 5 stars... and will continue adding to my kit in the coming years. 5
