I don't have much experience with binoculars, but did a lot of research on the internet. These Viper 8x42s always received high praise - and for good reason. The glass is crystal clear and bright and the picture is incredibly sharp. I didn't personally look through a wide range of optics to narrow down my options, but I'm really happy with my decision to go with the Vortex. Can't imagine how anything even remotely in this price range could be better.

I bought a pair of 8x42 Vortex Vipers for my wife several years ago. She insisted that her old porro-prism type wear just fine, but quickly fell in love with the new Vipers. The low light visibility and sharp image along with being smaller and lighter won her over. I finally decided acquire a pair of binoculars for myself and after reading reviews of competing brands and models decided to go with what I knew was a good thing. Happy with my purchase and love the lifetime warranty.

I chose my Vortex Fury binox in 2009 for viewing animals on an African safari after the store owner said they were the best for low light, and the ones he'd take. They were magnificent then and always, but fourteen years later my beloved Furies are battered, cracked and - from the latest fumble - the right eyepiece no longer dialed back in. I called Vortex for repair advice and was dumbfounded to learn of their essentially bulletproof-lifetime-no-receipt-needed warranty. I mailed them off to Vortex and today a brand-new in-the-box pair of Vipers arrived! I can hardly believe my luck. Not only the best binox ever. The best warranty ever.

I can't imagine a better product for the money. The low light performance is truly amazing. I've used them next to the Swarvoskis, and I couldn't tell the difference in a low light environment.

I use binoculars almost daily for work, so decided it was time to upgrade from some lower end binoculars. Having looked through a pair of Vortex glasses prior to purchasing, I knew they were of good quality. However, after comparing my old 10x42's (Leupold's, so decent quality) with these, I was quite impressed at the difference in brightness and clarity. I would compare it to looking at an LCD tv from 6 or 7 years ago to a new model out today. Definitely a good buy for someone who wants quality glasses, but doesn't want to drop $1200-1500 on a pair of high-end binoculars.

Upgraded from Vortex Diamondback 8 x 42 binoculars I've had for years - and loved - to get a higher level of precision and power. They arrived just in time for spring bird migration and have been fantastic so far. I was worried a little about the higher power and stability in my hands, but have not yet noticed any shaky major image issues. I've not had to try out the warranty on any of my three Vortex products (yet), but the warranty was a big factor in my choosing Vortex.

I bought these binos for an upcoming New Mexico Mulie hunt and WOW they are amazing! Just looking through them at home, I can see a huge difference from my old burris'. I have slowly started replacing my Leupold optics with Vortex because of the quality and clarity of this glass. The customer service is top notch as well. I haven't needed to send anything back, but I did send a short email with a few questions to them and was sent a reply within 12 hours. Throughly impressed with these products and this company.

Bought for bird watching and for a long western driving trip. Have used them for about a month so far, and I am very happy. They are compact and handle very well. the lens covers are very nice and will likely hold up well. Ditto for the carrying case. Good brightness and edge clarity. I wear glasses and have no issues with eye relief at all using these. I returned a pair which was about $ less (different manufacturer) because they just did not seem very sharp. Happy that I made the change. I cannot offer a side by side comparison with any other binocular, however. Certainly heavier than my old 7x24 Brunton unit but that is as expected. not too heavy to hike with, and I am in my late 60s.

I was deciding between these and Swaros. The only reason I looked at these was because I had heard they were good. I purchased with expectation of returning them if they did not meet my expectations. I will not be returning them. We sat with these and a pair of Swaros during an evening hunt. It was my opinion and the swaro owner that the Vortex was just as clear and crisp. I highly recommend trying these binos first before sending more. The purchase from B&H was fantastic and the customer service was great.
