The black I2 Bass and Cello Microphone Kit with 3.5mm Locking Connector for Sony ZTX-B01 and ZTX-B02RC Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a mic that has been built from the ground up for smooth frequency response, low noise, and precise polar patterns with deep nulls and natural on- and off-axis response. It can be used to capture natural audio for this instrument.

The I2 microphone is suitable for distance miking that is invisible in front of audiences and on camera. This version features increased sensitivity for distance miking and captures detail for quieter instruments. Flexible close miking techniques are aided by the bass and cello mount, which sits securely behind the bridge with a positioning arm for placement. In addition, the 5' cable is hardwired to the mic and terminates with a 3.5mm locking connector for direct connection to Sony ZTX-B01 and ZTX-B02RC wireless bodypack transmitters.

The I2 maintains excellent pattern control and frequency response at all angles. It offers uncolored recordings and reduced feedback issues.

Flexible close miking techniques are aided by the instrument mounts, which position securely and gently on the instrument for capturing audio.

Small size and sonic precision makes this microphone suitable for X-Y, M-S, and other techniques that rely on accurate, coincident positioning and consistent patterns.

The cardioid polar pattern is effective for picking up sound directly in front of the microphone and is less sensitive to sound directly behind the microphone. It picks up about 1/3 less ambient noise than the omnidirectional polar pattern, so the working distance (the distance a performer could be positioned from the microphone) is approximately 1.7 times that of the omni. The cardioid pattern works best when you can position the microphone directly towards the sound you wish to record (a lead singer, for example) and directly away from unwanted sound sources like a crowd or a loud monitor).

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with my VIXIA HF G50?

A: Yes will work with the Canon vixia g50 no problem this mic system comes with a 3.5mm cable to connect to your Canon's 3.5mm mic input.

Q: 2. Is there any way to set the frequency or digital coding so two identical sets can be used without interference?

A: The frequency can not be changed and you can have up to two systems in the same room without interference

Q: 3. I want to use this with iPhone X, and be able to charge the iPhone (via lightning cable) and monitor sound being recorded. Possible? If so, do you sell accessories required to do this?

A: You could try using the Apple Lightning to USB 3.0 Type-A Camera Adapter (B&H # APMK0W2AMA) which has a female USB Type-A port for the input, a female Lightning port for charging, and a male Lightning connector to plug into your iPhone. Connect the USB-C output from the Rode Wireless GO II Receiver to the female USB port on the Apple adapter using a USB Type-A to USB Type-C cable like those included with the Wireless GO II System. When using the USB-C output from the Wireless GO Receiver, the 3.5mm output will function as a headphone jack to monitor the audio while recording. This setup may provide a simple solution with all of the connections that you are looking for.

Q: 4. If I have two receivers and four transmitters, will the two receivers operate on two different frequencies?

A: Yes

Q: 5. Is there a bar display or some battery charge indicator?

A: Yes, There is a charge LED (single LED not a bar) indicator on both the transmitter and receiver.

Q: 6. How well does the Sony ECM-674 compare with the Audio Technica AT-897?

A: The ECM-674/9x and Audio Technica AT897 are very similar in features and specifications. There would only be a slight difference tonally.

Q: 7. is the 3.5 mm output from the Receiver stereo (from each of the transmitters?)

A: The output connector on the Rode Wireless GO II receiver is 3.5mm TRS. The receiver can be set to send either stereo or dual mono output from both of the transmitters.

Q: 8. how is this different or better/worse than the Rode Wireless Go ii. Can't decide between the two. It is for use with the Sony A7iii?

A: Main difference is this is Bluetooth. Bluetooth is usually a format with more latency issues than other wireless formats. It also does not transmit as far. Only about 30 feet max.

Q: 9. I realize this question was already asked last year, but is there any auto-shut-off feature if I turn the "always" recording feature on? Wouldn't that like not make any sense? Who in their right mind would trust this to always record if it would just shut off after 15 minutes of not being connected to the receiver?

A: When the Rode Wireless GO II Transmitter is set for "Always" recording mode, the transmitter will start recording audio as soon as it is switched on and it will continue recording until it is switched off, regardless of whether or not it is connected to the Wireless GO II Receiver. This feature makes the Wireless GO II Transmitter suitable for use as a standalone field recorder. Additionally, when used in "Always" record mode, the mute function will not affect the on-board recording but it will mute the ability to transmit audio wirelessly.

Q: 10. Does the receiver mount to a camera hot shoe?

A: The Rode Wireless GO II receiver does not have the ability to interface with a hot shoe, but its clip is the correct size and shape to slot into a standard shoe mount for mounting purposes only.

I've been using my trusty a7rIII for wildlife and notice how the camera struggles to find focus while finding small birds in bushes or through grass especially in less than ideal light so I was excited to try the new and faster autofocus albeit with a bit of skepticism of the marketing hype.

I'm happy to report that the AF is definitively as good as advertised and the bird Eye AF is a game-changer when it comes to picking up the eye of fast-moving little birds through twigs in low light.

After years of waiting, I received this camera just before Christmas and have had so much fun with it! Everything that I was wanting in a camera I found in the new A7 iV. I love the fast auto-eye focus and interface design. I love the movie capabilities and that movie mode gets its own fast switch. I appreciate how the menus are user-friendly and the whole camera is customizable. I also like that I can tap my subject on the LCD screen to initiate tracking on it. I'm just learning that this camera has so much to offer. It's a huge step-up for me from my Sony A7 ii at a reasonable price.

This Sony camera is certainly not for a beginner photographer or videographer. The menu and setting can be quite daunting but if you know what you're doing this cameras capabilities are endless. Has all the features most filmmakers need and has crisp pristine footage accompanied with a G Master lens. It's Photo and Video capabilities are next level and one of if not the best Hybrid to date!

I bought the a7IV as my "b cam" for both photography and video work and it fits that role well. AF is fast and reliable as expected, colors match well, and it maintains a nice balance of higher megapixels for photography and 10 bit/4k for video.

It seems like Sony really listened to their feedback from the a7 III and put together a really wonderful hybrid camera by incorporating elements from all of their current more expensive models and even a few surprises that are a first for Sony and the industry. I'm very pleased with this camera over the last 2 weeks and I look forward to using it more to expand my creative visions.

This camera is great for my use. I know this camera may not be for everyone but I needed a second body and couldn't get myself to buy another a7iii when the a7iv was coming out soon. B&H was also great with shipping. It essentially came in one day. It shipped the 23rd and arrived the 24th in the morning.

SOOC JPEGS need minimal editing, skin tones are very pleasant, autofocus in video is huge upgrade over A7III. Camera seems to do everything for you. I do prefer the slightly less bulky size of A7III but that's just personal preference.

A73 is a fantastic camera, but the a74 is even better. If you like the autofocus system in a73, I promise you that you will love the a74 even faster and accurate upgraded autofocus system.

I've been using Canon for ages and I decided to switch to Sony as Canon is stingy about features... I've been using this for only couple weeks but I already love it! Great camera with lots of customisable buttons and dials.
One concern is over heating... It hasn't over heat yet but it gets hot even if you don't shoot...

This camera is absolutely a beast! Don't worry about overheating. Just have the screen ajar or opened all the way as well as just setting the auto power saving temp to high and you will be golden! Also I have the shutter open the whole time just to avoid any issues of getting it stuck (it is a bit fragile as far as materials go) if your careful with your gear this shouldn't be a problem at all. Sony is finally my favorite system for its color science! The 10bit 422 is absolutely amazing! Overall such an awesome camera!
