The black I2 Bass and Cello Microphone Kit with 3.5mm Locking Connector for Sony UTX-B03, UTX-B1, UTX-B2, and WRT-805A Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a mic that has been built from the ground up for smooth frequency response, low noise, and precise polar patterns with deep nulls and natural on- and off-axis response. It can be used to capture natural audio for this instrument.

The I2 microphone is suitable for distance miking that is invisible in front of audiences and on camera. This version features increased sensitivity for distance miking and captures detail for quieter instruments. Flexible close miking techniques are aided by the bass and cello mount, which sits securely behind the bridge with a positioning arm for placement. In addition, the 5' cable is hardwired to the mic and terminates with a 3.5mm locking connector for direct connection to Sony UTX-B03, UTX-B1, UTX-B2, and WRT-805A wireless bodypack transmitters.

The I2 maintains excellent pattern control and frequency response at all angles. It offers uncolored recordings and reduced feedback issues.

Flexible close miking techniques are aided by the instrument mounts, which position securely and gently on the instrument for capturing audio.

Small size and sonic precision makes this microphone suitable for X-Y, M-S, and other techniques that rely on accurate, coincident positioning and consistent patterns.

The cardioid polar pattern is effective for picking up sound directly in front of the microphone and is less sensitive to sound directly behind the microphone. It picks up about 1/3 less ambient noise than the omnidirectional polar pattern, so the working distance (the distance a performer could be positioned from the microphone) is approximately 1.7 times that of the omni. The cardioid pattern works best when you can position the microphone directly towards the sound you wish to record (a lead singer, for example) and directly away from unwanted sound sources like a crowd or a loud monitor).

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. how is this different or better/worse than the Rode Wireless Go ii. Can't decide between the two. It is for use with the Sony A7iii?

A: Main difference is this is Bluetooth. Bluetooth is usually a format with more latency issues than other wireless formats. It also does not transmit as far. Only about 30 feet max.

Q: 2. Is there any way to set the frequency or digital coding so two identical sets can be used without interference?

A: The frequency can not be changed and you can have up to two systems in the same room without interference

Q: 3. Not being a pro sound guy so I'm trying to avoid Sennheiser products, I'm looking for solutions to these uses: First, will it work with BMPCC 4k-8k? 4k does not have a hot shoe. Second, I'm setting up podcasts with up to six speakers using different cameras. How can I configure this with Rode ll? I am using Black Magic Atem Mini Pro switcher that has four html inputs and 2 mic connects. At any rate, what about compatibility?

A: The Rode Go will plug into the Black Magic (or any compatible device) using the 3.5mm jack. However, If you plan on havng six microphones on set (the limit wth this system is 8) I recommend connecting the microphones into a mixer then taking the output of the mixer into the ATEM.

Q: 4. Will it fit on a sony ax53 camcorder?

A: Yes, the Sony ECM-W2BT Camera-Mount Digital Bluetooth Wireless Microphone System for Sony Cameras will fit on and work with the Multi Interface Shoe of the Sony FDR-AX53 4K Ultra HD Handycam Camcorder.

Q: 5. I got this to go with the sony zv1 camera (shown in sony's own advertising as working). When attaching to the hot shoe I get this error... This accessory is not supported by the device and cannot be used. Is it compatible with the zv1?

A: Yes, the ECM-W2BT is compatible for use with the ZV1 camera. Since the ZV1 has a standard MI shoe (without a digital audio interface) set the switch on the mic to "analog" and make sure the receiver is pushed in all the way on the MI shoe to be certain that it is fully connected. Keep the power for both the camera and the mic off and wait until the receiver is connected before powering them on. If you are still having trouble with the setup, please contact us by phone or through live chat on the website and we can assist you further to resolve the problem.

Q: 6. Can it capture dual audio channels?

A: There is a microphone built into the reciever as well the transmitter and you can record both sources.

Q: 7. can this connect to an Iphone 14 Pro max?

A: Yes, the RODE Wireless GO II 2-Person Compact Digital Wireless Microphone System/Recorder can be connected to an iPhone by using the RODE SC15 Lightning USB Type-C to Lightning Accessory Cable (B&H # ROSC15).

Q: 8. What bodies in the a6 line will this work with (a6000–6600)? None, all, some? Which ones? I'm having a hard time figuring out which ones have the MI hot shoe. Thanks

A: The Sony A6000, A6100, A6300, A6400, A6500, and A6600 all have the Multi Interface shoe. In addition to being compatible with Sony's Multi Interface shoe, the ECM-W2BT wireless receiver also has a standard 3.5mm output for connection to any traditional DSLR or mirrorless cameras with a 3.5mm mic input, so the wireless system can also be used with many other cameras and is not limited to only those with the MI shoe. A 3.5mm cable is included with the wireless system.

Q: 9. Will this work with my VIXIA HF G50?

A: Yes will work with the Canon vixia g50 no problem this mic system comes with a 3.5mm cable to connect to your Canon's 3.5mm mic input.

Q: 10. can I use this as a mic with my ipad mini by plugging it into the USB-C port?

A: Yes, the receiver in the Rode Wireless GO II 2-Person Compact Digital Wireless Microphone System/Recorder can output its signal over USB Type-C into an iPad's USB Type-C connection using the Rode SC16 Straight USB Type-C to Right-Angle USB Type-C Cable (BH #ROSC16): https://bhpho.to/3NwP49B

Coming from over 10years of using Nikon (both DSLRs and mirrorless), and having tried the old A7RIII and going back to Nikon because of colors (personal preference towards Nikon style), and having been using the A7C for about a year, I'm extremely happy with this camera in many ways, but primarily the speed and image quality.

Speed-wise, it's extremely responsive with fast wake-up time and start-up time. This almost feel like the SLR days (Nikon D700, 810, etc). It's still not as fast, but now it's usable, meaning reacting to unplanned actions is now meaningful, which was not possible with the A7Riii or the A7C.

Image quality-wise, that was another aspect that I was not happy with with the A7Riii, especially the color science. I was happy with the A7C, and I'm happy to report that the A7IV also implements a similar and vastly improved color science.

My Sony a7iv was my first mirrorless camera and I love it! Service from B&H Photo is the best!

As an a7III user, I could not wait to get the new A7iv. It feels great in the hand, but is not much heavier than the A7iii. The buttons are intuitive, the port covers are much better, and they finally allowed the Shutter to remain closed when the camera is off to help prevent dust on the sensor. The menu while intuitive and easier to navigate is a bit of a learning curve. Overall I would buy one again if anything happens to this one!

I liked my SONY A6300 and I had purchased two full frame lenses which I enjoyed. I ore-ordered the A7 IV body and I like it very much.
After limited programing I take pictures I truly like and much better than all of my digital cameras I still hold on too. Now I need to spend some time to fully program it to my liking. And after that I am sure I will be more pleased with the images it takes.
Recently, I purchased a second SONY battery for this camera and a SONY charger. Now I feel that I can go into full day excursions without worrying of running short of power.
I strongly recommend this camera.

VIA.

I am a still shooter, not video, so no info on that. But the image quality and eye tracking (human) and colors are great. Easy to use and set up. Highly recommend Mark Galer's videos on Sony cameras.

Only 2weeks since I got my hands on the Sony A7iv. But so far,
I am impressed by the ease of use, both ergonomically and its ease of use with the now menus and button/dial/function assignability. The focus is super-fast and the still images a very sharp, especially the Raw images. Compared to my original Sony A7, this is a quantum leap improvement in every category. The flippy screen and friendly menu system makes this camera a dream.
