Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B3 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.
The B3 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.
The B3 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB for wireless applications. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat-frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B3 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.
Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high-overload capability for recording instruments.
Low, head miking for theater.
Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Is it fairly easy to unscrew the quick release base? What is the thread size of the ball stud?
A: Yes, It is easy to unscrew. I don't know the exactly size of the thread but which is a regular size for common fittings. I found no any problem to put it on my Gitzo.
Q: 2. How the orginal wireless go compares to Wireless Go II if you compare quality a on board mic is it better in version II? And is the voice quality overall better than orginal version I? I think about standard conditions where the camera is about 5m from subject?
A: The Wireless GO II uses new patent-pending technology which incorporates 128-bit encryption for security and improved stability, as well as providing a stronger signal for clear audio with an extended transmission range of up to 656 feet (line of sight), In addition to recording audio on your camera, the Wireless GO II allows you to capture up to seven hours of uncompressed 24-bit / 48 kHz WAV audio or 24 hours of compressed audio directly to each transmitter without the need for an SD card. This allows you to record to your camera and to the transmitters at the same time. The free Rode Central app (currently available for Mac and Windows, but iOS and Android support is coming soon) allows you to access the recording features, adjust settings, playback recordings, then export and optimize the recorded files from each transmitter. The recorded files can be saved to a computer in various formats such as MP3 or WAV in 16-, 24-, or 32-bit float. You can also select between mono and stereo output.
Q: 3. how do I buy another transmitter?
A: Unfortunately we do not carry the Rode Wireless GO transmitter separately. It is only possible to connect a maximum of two transmitters to each receiver.
Q: 4. Is there an XLR transmitter available for purchase that will work with this receiver, for using on the end of a boom pole?
A: Unfortunately, there is currently no available XLR plug on transmitter available for the AVX wireless system.
Q: 5. Is it possible to add a third mic to this system?
A: No. The BOYA BY-WM4 PRO-K2 Two-Person Digital Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System (2.4 GHz) is not able to add a third mic. The receiver accommodates 2 channels only.
Q: 6. Is this wireless mic system compatible with the Sony a6500 mirrorless camera?
A: Yes will work and connect with Sony A6500 no problems
Q: 7. I understand this unit is made to accept standard 3.5mm cable. But has anyone tried a lav mic with locking 3.5mm connection? Did it work? I have a Countryman B3 with 3.5mm locking connection.
A: The compatibility of specific locking 3.5mm connectors varies from brand to brand when attempting to use them with the Rode Wireless GO II 2-Person Compact Digital Wireless Microphone System/Recorder. This largely depends on the connector's locking mechanism being able to move far enough out of the way to allow a full connection to the Rode transmitter input. From our own testing we have found that Countryman B3 microphones with this connection typically work with and are compatible for use with the Rode Wireless GO II.
Q: 8. How much bias power voltage will the transmitter-recorder provide to the lav mic input? Pro lav mics like the DPA or Countryman will require 3-5v.
A: The voltage of the microphone input on the transmitter within the Rode Wireless GO II 2-Person Compact Digital Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System/Recorder Kit is not made available by the manufacturer.
Q: 9. can i use headphones to monitor?
A: Yes, you can use headphones to monitor the audio. If you use the USB-C output on the receiver, the 3.5mm jack can be used with headphones. As another option, you can use a stereo Y-cable such as the Kopul 1/8" Stereo Y Cable (B&H # KOHPSSM) or Hosa Technology Stereo Mini (3.5mm) Male to 2 Stereo Mini (3.5mm) Female Y-Cable - 6" (B&H # HOYCSMM2SM) to split the 3.5mm stereo output signal into two stereo outputs, just as you would if you were using two sets of headphones to listen from output. One side can connect to the input on your camera, recorder, mixer, etc. using the original 3.5mm TRS output cable or a different stereo aux cable, and you can connect headphones to the other side.
Q: 10. Can the Wireless GO II be used in the same room as the original Wireless Go? Will they automatically select different 2.4GHz channels?
A: Yes you can use the Rode Wireless Go II in the same room as the Rode Wireless Go. The systems have frequency agility built into them to avoid interference with each other.
