Designed for vloggers, mobile journalists, and videographers, the Movo Photo EDGE-UC-DUO is a compact digital wireless microphone system with two microphones and just one receiver. Easy-to-use with plug-and-play operation, it offers a convenient solution for recording dialog, interviews, and speech with two people talking simultaneously—directly to an Android smartphone or a USB Type-C device.

The ultralightweight EDGE-UC-DUO consists of two, compact bodypack transmitters each with its own lavalier microphone. The mics feature an omnidirectional pickup pattern that offers consistent speech capture, even when the talent's head turns away from the mic. The transmitters are equipped with battery indicators and can accept both mic- and line-level signals.

The system also comes with a small, dual-channel receiver that mounts on and plugs directly into the USB Type-C port of your Android phone. The receiver is equipped with an audio level control and a status LED. You can set it to record in either mono or stereo mode. To ensure that you are capturing a clean signal, you can monitor your mics via the receiver's headphone output while recording.

The EDGE-UC-DUO delivers reliable transmission with a clear sound at a distance up to 200'. The transmitters operate on two AAA batteries, while the receiver is powered by your phone. A hard case is provided to safely store and transport your system.

  • The two-channel receiver allows you to use just one receiver to simultaneously receive signals from the two mic/transmitters, saving space on your phone shooting rig.

  • Whereas typical analog wireless systems are susceptible to interference from TV and radio waves, the EDGE-UC-DUO digital system avoids that by operating in the 2.4 GHz frequency band, which occupies frequencies beyond those of television, radio transmissions, and UHF wireless microphone systems.
  • The system automatically changes transmission frequency to mitigate noise and dropouts at a line-of-sight distance of up to 200 feet. For optimal performance, environments with limited Wi-Fi/2.4 GHz traffic and minimal physical obstructions are recommended.

I have a Panasonic G7 and wanted this mic as something that could keep my rig compact and yet give me good sound quality. I wanted to be able to throw it in my bag and grab it quickly if needed to get something when I'm on the go. This really worked out great for that and I think it's a product you would be very pleased with as well.

With either a SC6 (Rode Cable) and SC7 (Rode Adapter) I was able to connect my headphone and VideoMicro Compact to my Iphone 6s+. Much more mobile and ready to do what I need to do.

If you're looking for the perfect shotgun mic for on the go, spur-of-the-moment filming or simply looking for quality audio recording for a low price, then look no further. This mic solves all those needs and requires nothing but being plugged in. The included wind furry made this an irresistible purchase for me and I'm nothing but completely pleased with that choice.

I'm sure the Rode VideoMic Pro would perform noticeably better. However, for 1/4 the price of that mic, the VideoMicro is AWESOME. As with most new electronics, I couldn't wait to test it out. I was in my backyard trying to test this mic and getting frustrated with all the neighborhood noises. I did want some noises to see how well the mic worked, but the neighbor across the street was using a leaf blower... which was a little louder than I was hoping to deal with. I gave up and recorded a sample of my daughter telling a joke while he continued to use the blower, with this mic and using the on-camera mic. I was pleasantly surprised... this mic did a great job picking up my daughter's voice and rejecting the sound of the blower. I could still hear the blower (very faint), but I could hear her voice clearly over it. Not only is this mic cheaper, it comes with a dead cat in the box! This was actually the reason I picked this over the Go model. The day I tested this mic, the wind was gusting pretty good. I never heard any wind/mic noise. The small size and the fact that it doesn't need a battery make it easy to pack. If you need high quality audio and have the money, I'd recommend the Pro model. But if this is all you can afford at the moment, it's worth the cost to upgrade from the on-camera mic.
