The black I2 Bass and Cello Microphone Kit with TA4F Connector for Vega BP2020, PRO-2, ST2020, T23, T25, T37, and T93 Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a mic that has been built from the ground up for smooth frequency response, low noise, and precise polar patterns with deep nulls and natural on- and off-axis response. It can be used to capture natural audio for this instrument.

The I2 microphone is suitable for distance miking that is invisible in front of audiences and on camera. This version features increased sensitivity for distance miking and captures detail for quieter instruments. Flexible close miking techniques are aided by the bass and cello mount, which sits securely behind the bridge with a positioning arm for placement. In addition, the 5' cable is hardwired to the mic and terminates with a TA4F connector for direct connection to Vega BP2020, PRO-2, ST2020, T23, T25, T37, and T93 wireless bodypack transmitters.

The I2 maintains excellent pattern control and frequency response at all angles. It offers uncolored recordings and reduced feedback issues.

Flexible close miking techniques are aided by the instrument mounts, which position securely and gently on the instrument for capturing audio.

Small size and sonic precision makes this microphone suitable for X-Y, M-S, and other techniques that rely on accurate, coincident positioning and consistent patterns.

The cardioid polar pattern is effective for picking up sound directly in front of the microphone and is less sensitive to sound directly behind the microphone. It picks up about 1/3 less ambient noise than the omnidirectional polar pattern, so the working distance (the distance a performer could be positioned from the microphone) is approximately 1.7 times that of the omni. The cardioid pattern works best when you can position the microphone directly towards the sound you wish to record (a lead singer, for example) and directly away from unwanted sound sources like a crowd or a loud monitor).

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the Rode Wireless Go II transmit the audio between the transmitter and the receiver in 24bit or 32bit?

A: The Rode Wireless Go II performs A/D conversion at 24-bit resolution, and 24-bit audio is transmitted to the receiver.

Q: 2. why are there so many questions beibg asked here?

A: BC it is a new product, at a reasonable price and expectations are high that the product will perform as well as the original Rode Wireless Go which is a single channel system.

Q: 3. I want to use this with iPhone X, and be able to charge the iPhone (via lightning cable) and monitor sound being recorded. Possible? If so, do you sell accessories required to do this?

A: You could try using the Apple Lightning to USB 3.0 Type-A Camera Adapter (B&H # APMK0W2AMA) which has a female USB Type-A port for the input, a female Lightning port for charging, and a male Lightning connector to plug into your iPhone. Connect the USB-C output from the Rode Wireless GO II Receiver to the female USB port on the Apple adapter using a USB Type-A to USB Type-C cable like those included with the Wireless GO II System. When using the USB-C output from the Wireless GO Receiver, the 3.5mm output will function as a headphone jack to monitor the audio while recording. This setup may provide a simple solution with all of the connections that you are looking for.

Q: 4. If I have two receivers and four transmitters, will the two receivers operate on two different frequencies?

A: Yes

Q: 5. The windscreen on the original Wireless Go had a propensity to come off. Has Rode changed the design so that the windscreens stay on the Wireless Go II transmitter?

A: Yes, Rode did improve the design of the windscreen for the Wireless GO II as well as for the original Wireless GO so it will stay securely on the transmitter.

Q: 6. I realize this question was already asked last year, but is there any auto-shut-off feature if I turn the "always" recording feature on? Wouldn't that like not make any sense? Who in their right mind would trust this to always record if it would just shut off after 15 minutes of not being connected to the receiver?

A: When the Rode Wireless GO II Transmitter is set for "Always" recording mode, the transmitter will start recording audio as soon as it is switched on and it will continue recording until it is switched off, regardless of whether or not it is connected to the Wireless GO II Receiver. This feature makes the Wireless GO II Transmitter suitable for use as a standalone field recorder. Additionally, when used in "Always" record mode, the mute function will not affect the on-board recording but it will mute the ability to transmit audio wirelessly.

Q: 7. How can I mount this on my Sony a7 III ?

A: The receiver mounts to the accessory shoe on the Sony a7 III.

Q: 8. When the TX unit is plugged into the computer does it charge at the same time as data? Kinda like a cell phone when it's plugged into a computer.

A: The data tranfer will only take a couple of minutes, not long enough for a proper charge.

Q: 9. Do you need to use the app to start recording on the transmitters? Can it be started on the unit itself?

A: The recodings are done directly on each transmitter. No additional apps or software is needed

Q: 10. is the 3.5 mm output from the Receiver stereo (from each of the transmitters?)

A: The output connector on the Rode Wireless GO II receiver is 3.5mm TRS. The receiver can be set to send either stereo or dual mono output from both of the transmitters.
