The black I2 Bass and Cello Microphone Kit with TA4F Connector for Shure AD1, ADX1, AXT100TA4F, GLXD1, PGXD1, QLXD1, and ULXD1 Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a mic that has been built from the ground up for smooth frequency response, low noise, and precise polar patterns with deep nulls and natural on- and off-axis response. It can be used to capture natural audio for this instrument.

The I2 microphone is suitable for distance miking that is invisible in front of audiences and on camera. This version features increased sensitivity for distance miking and captures detail for quieter instruments. Flexible close miking techniques are aided by the bass and cello mount, which sits securely behind the bridge with a positioning arm for placement. In addition, the 5' cable is hardwired to the mic and terminates with a TA4F connector for direct connection to Shure AD1, ADX1, AXT100TA4F, GLXD1, PGXD1, QLXD1, and ULXD1 wireless bodypack transmitters.

The I2 maintains excellent pattern control and frequency response at all angles. It offers uncolored recordings and reduced feedback issues.

Flexible close miking techniques are aided by the instrument mounts, which position securely and gently on the instrument for capturing audio.

Small size and sonic precision makes this microphone suitable for X-Y, M-S, and other techniques that rely on accurate, coincident positioning and consistent patterns.

The hypercardioid polar pattern has a narrower pickup pattern in its front than the cardioid polar pattern. It offers better rejection of ambient noise and the working distance is about twice that of the omni polar pattern. The hypercardioid has a small "pickup lobe" directly behind the microphone and exhibits maximum rejection areas behind and to the sides (about 60 degrees away from the rear of the microphone on either side) of the mic. The hypercardioid pattern works best when the loudest unwanted sounds—like speakers—can be positioned in these nulls.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this be mounted to the SmallRig Video Kit Lite for iPhone 13 Pro case in some way (hot shoe adaptor, etc.)?

A: Yes, the Shure MOTIV MV88+ Video Kit Digital Stereo Microphone and Accessories for Smartphones could be integrated with the SmallRig Video Kit Lite for iPhone 13 Pro. The mic clip for the MOTIV MV88+ includes a shoe adapter that would mount onto the Smallrig's cold shoe nicely.

Q: 2. Is there a remote shutter that will work with the Motiv software?

A: The Shure Motiv app for the MV88+ does not support remote control.

Q: 3. Can this be used on a Fujifilm X-T30?

A: No, the Shure MV88+ is a digital mic that is designed for use with mobile devices only. It is not compatible for use with analog audio inputs on cameras and recorders. As another option for a compact mic that can be used with cameras and mobile devices, you may want to consider the new Sennheiser MKE 400 (B&H # SEMKE400M). This mic is also available in a kit with the same Manfrotto PIXI mini tripod and a phone clamp with a cold shoe mount which is the Sennheiser MKE 400 Mobile Kit Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone with Smartphone Recording Bundle (B&H # SEMKE400MK). The Sennheiser MKE 200 (B&H # SEMKE200) is a smaller and simpler mini shotgun mic that is also available with the same mini tripod and phone clamp (B&H # SEMKE200MK). The Rode VideoMicro (B&H # ROVIDEOMICRO) is also available in a kit with a similar mini tripod and phone holder (B&H # ROVLOGVMICRO). Since the Fujifilm X-T30 has a 2.5mm TRS mic input, you can use the Beachtek SC25 3.5mm to 2.5mm TRS Output Cable (B&H # BESC25) to connect any of the mics to your camera. Please contact us by phone or through live chat on the website if you have any questions or if you would like further assistance. We have many more microphones that can be used in a similar setup.

Q: 4. Is there a shock mount for this mic so I can film on the move without picking up any unnecessary bumps/feedback?

A: The MV88+ kit is designed to record while on the move. The legs of the Manfrotto mini tripod fold up so the stand can be used as a handgrip while holding the mic securely. As another option for a handheld system that can hold the mic along with your smartphone and allow you to move freely while recording, check out the Shoulderpod G2 Professional Mobile Video Grip (B&H# SHG2BK01EU1).

Q: 5. does it come with a lighting cable to use with iPhone?

A: The Shure MV88+ does not come with a Lightning cable.

Q: 6. Will the clamp hold an iPad? If not, can you recommend a compatible clamp that will?

A: This clamp is designed to hold a phone. This is an iPad clamp. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1487517-REG/ulanzi_0338_u_pad_ipad_holder.html

Q: 7. So this is effectively an M+S USB microphone. Does it expose both M and S channels separately over USB or is it only a stereo mix of them?

A: When using the Shure Motiv Audio, or the Shure Motiv Video free app for IOS or Android. you have compete control over the polarity patterns. You can have it switched to cardioid to control the middle, or switch it to Bi-directional to control the sides. You also have the ability to set it for M/S to control everything as once. However, if you are looking to use the M/S polarity pattern and have control of each channel, it does not have this capability. The M/S Pattern will mix it down into a stereo mix.

Q: 8. Is it possible to do a live stream from the iPhone (say, to Facebook) with the MV88+ providing the audio source?

A: Yes. When connected to your phone, it replaces the on-board mic.

Q: 9. Please, someone plug this into the Osmo Pocket and see if it works?!

A: Short answer is yes. Longer answer is it wont be that simple and there will be limitations. Long answer with details is as follows: 1) You will need the microphone input adapter from DJI 2) This mics hardware and settings are controlled via an app which means that you will have to set it up (pickup pattern, effects and etc.) by connecting it to your phone. 3) Once it is set up the settings remain in the mic and you won't have on the fly controls when using this mic with an osmo. 4) You will need a power supply or external battery power bank to power the mic. 5 You will also need to get a 3.5mm stereo mini to stereo mini cable

Q: 10. Does the mv88 or mv88+ show up and work as expected in the Blackmagic camera app for video recording on iPhone 15?

A: According to users on the Blackmagic Forum, the Blackmagic Camera app will recognize the mic included with the Shure MV88+ Video Kit, but it will not record 24-bit audio or stereo audio. The app will show that the mic is recording the left and right channels, but the recorded audio is mono and changes to the mic gain, compressor, and DSP effects are not acknowledged. The MV88+ does work properly when used with the Shure MOTIV app.
