The black I2 Instrument Microphone, Standard Gain, with TA5F Connector for Lectrosonics M185, M187, and UM700 Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a mic that has been engineered from the ground up for natural on- and off-axis frequency response, low-noise, and precise polar patterns with deep nulls. This tiny instrument microphone can be used to capture audio in sound reinforcement applications for saxophone, violin, viola, cello, double bass, acoustic guitars, piano, brass, and percussion instruments.

The I2 instrument microphone is suitable for distance miking that is invisible in front of audiences and on camera. This version offers a standard gain and is suitable for close miking and loud instruments like horns. It is supplied with a foam windscreen, a basic clip, and a carrying case. In addition, the 5' cable is permanently attached to the mic and terminates to a TA5F connector for direct connection to Lectrosonics M185, M187, and UM700 wireless bodypack transmitters.

The I2 maintains excellent pattern control and frequency response at all angles. It offers uncolored recordings and reduced feedback issues.

Flexible close miking techniques can be aided by the various selection of instrument mounts (sold separately), which position securely and gently to strings, brass, and more.

Small size and sonic precision makes this microphone suitable for X-Y, M-S, and other techniques that rely on accurate, coincident positioning, and consistent patterns.

The cardioid polar pattern is effective for picking up sound directly in front of the microphone and is less sensitive to sound directly behind the microphone. It picks up about 1/3 less ambient noise than the omnidirectional polar pattern, so the working distance (the distance a performer could be positioned from the microphone) is approximately 1.7 times that of the omni. The cardioid pattern works best when you can position the microphone directly towards the sound you wish to record (a lead singer, for example) and directly away from unwanted sound sources like a crowd or a loud monitor).

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the expiration date? When were they manufactured?

A: B&H buys and sells film in bulk. In general we regularly maintain fresh film stock. All of our film is at least 6 months from expiration (typically much longer). Anytime film stock is less than 6 months from expiration we sell it in a separate section and label it as short-dated film and also price it with a slight discount (again due to the volumes we sell this rarely occurs). Unfortunately we do not have access to our inventory to hand inspect the expiration date of any of our films prior to purchase.

Q: 2. 3 questions: Will this fit in an ORIGINAL 1951 Kodak Brownie 13mm f2.7? Is it projectable? And does it come with a spool?

A: This is 25ft(33ft with leader for either end for loading) spool film, Double 8mm and will fit into every spool film loading Double 8mm camera, even the original KODAK from 1932. After you send the film out for processing, it will return developed to a Black & White Reversal(Positive)image film, having been slit down the middle from its 16mm width (thus why it's called DOUBLE 8mm film), with each 25ft segment spliced end to end, yielding approximately 50ft of film on a 50ft Projection Reel. The film if shot at 16 frames per second (as is the situation with most 8mm cameras made prior to 1958), and thus projected at that same speed, will yield approximately 4minutes 12 seconds of screen time. If shot at 18fps, as is the case with many cameras made after 1958, it will run for about 3 minutes 50 seconds. If transferred to video format with chain type transfer equipment, it will yield about 3 minutes 30 seconds of video time, which can be adjusted back to whatever time run length you want in video editing software. Keep in mind, film transfer is an extra service beyond the cost of developing the film. I suggest doing an internet search for how to properly load and use these older cameras; many helpful sites out there. Good luck, happy filmmaking, and best wishes over the holiday season. Q: 3. Good day, Regarding the shipment of photographic film, is it guaranteed that it will not go through X-rays and spoil the film?

A: We are not able to guarantee that the film will not get x-rayed. It is best to contact the carrier, either Fed-ex or USPS.

Q: 4. What is the average time of recording at approximately 24fps with this roll?

A: The average record time for the Foma Fomapan R100 Double Standard 8mm Black and White Transparency Film (10m) will be about 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

Q: 5. Hi just wondering when it's time to shoot the second half of film, does that mean you have to shoot what you've already shot again, or can you continue to shoot something else? Thanks.

A: You can continue to shoot something else. The format sounds a little confusing, but it's essentially the same as any other film stock, just when it runs out, you flip it, thread it through the camera again, and keep shooting. In processing, they'll split it down the middle and attach the two halves together, making one long reel.

Q: 6. Will this film work with a Paillard Bolec C8?

A: Yes, most definitely since it was designed and intended to be used in Double 8mm cameras, of which the small compact BOLEX C8 is.

Q: 7. Does this antenna work with SRa receivers?

A: Yes it will: The Lectrosonics AMJ Color Coded Whip Antenna is a replacement antenna for the SM, UM200, UM400, UM190, UM195, UM400a and SRa beltpack transmitters. The antenna features a standard stainless steel connector SMA connector and nearly indestructible steel wire.

Q: 8. Will this film fit in a 1959-60's Yashica8-EIII movie camera?

A: Hello,Yes it will.

Q: 9. i bought this film several times and had no issue. However when i bought two more reels this time the perforations were smaller than previously and because of this my camera is not able to get hold of the film and pull it through to the empty spool. Have you ever heard of this being a problem? Is there a potential fix for this?

A: I would have to say you received the wrong product, this very similar looking one: Foma FOMAPAN R100 B&W Double Super 8 Reversal Film (33') B&H # FOPR10010. This film has the smaller Super 8 perforations. Unfortunately, we normally cannot accept opened film boxes. However, please contact B&H Customer Service to see what they may be able to do. Q: 10. I have a Yashica EE automatic 8. I've measured the empty take-up reel and it's 2 inches big at max. Will this fit in my camera?

A: Yes, the Fomapan will work. 8mm film width, sprocket holes, and reels are all the same the world over. If you get an 8mm camera like the Yashica EE Automatic 8 , Fomapan will work with it.
