This Haida Rear Lens ND Filter Kit includes four ND filters plus a dedicated rear lens adapter ring. The adapter ring is compatible with the Sony FE 12-24mm f/2.8 GM and 14mm f/1.8 GM lenses. It's made of lightweight yet robust aerospace aluminum. The ring attaches to the rear of the lens, and the included 3-, 4-, 6-, and 10-stop filters mount directly into it and reduce the amount of light without compromising color accuracy.

The filters feature K9 optical glass with Nano coating that helps prevent reflections while protecting them from scratches water. This rear lens kit enables you to use ND filters with the Sony lenses without the use of filter holders on the front of the lens. A screwdriver and screws are included for securing the adapter ring to the back of the lens. Three screws are already set in the adapter ring. (Certain lens parts are required to be removed from the rear of the lens before attaching the adapter ring.)

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. The new Sony lens SEL70200GM ships with a petal-shaped lens hood ALC-SH145. What is the diameter of this lens hood at its widest point? (This should assist me to prepare room for the lens in the face of the long delay in availability.)

A: 4 1/2 at the widest point.

Q: 2. hey guys, I'm thinking to get a zoom lens to work on my a7iii and I don't know if it's better to go for the 100/400 G or this 70/200 G and the 2x extender. what do you suggest? I'm gonna use it for wild photography

A: 70-200mm is a better choice

Q: 3. Its this lenses made in Japan

A: It is not manufactured in Japan.

Q: 4. Will this lens work with the A6000?

A: As the Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS Lens is designed for use on the Sony E-mount, which is the lens mount used on the Sony Alpha a6000 Mirrorless Digital Camera, yes, the lens would be compatible for use on the a6000 Digital Camera.

Q: 5. Add a teleconverter

A: By all means, yes.

Q: 6. Can this lense be used on my a77! And will it give me a good result or I should upgrade the body to the a7rii!

A: I echo the answer given by John. I believe a77 is compatible with A-mount lenses. The FE 70-200 GM is for E mount cameras. So, I don't think it is going to fit your camera unless an adopter is used.

Q: 7. does this lens feature internal focusing and internal zooming? Does it extend during zooming or does it remain the same length?

A: Internal focus and zoom. Little to no focus breathing either.

Q: 8. How much image quality loss is there when using the 1.4 and 2.0 tele extenders with this lens?

A: There us no loss in image quality at all. But you will lose a stop...the lens will now be an F4.

Q: 9. Difference between gm I and Gm ii

A: The GM2 version is lighter weight, 4 times faster in focus speed and has better edge to edge sharpness compared to the older Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS Lens.

Q: 10. does this lens focus manually as well as AF? I just got it and when I turn the focus ring I do not see any change in focus.

A: I think the answer to your most recent question is it depends , e.g.,If camera is set to AF-S and you use back button focusing with lock-on when you lift your thumb off the back button, then you can tweak manually. If you use shutter button (half press), and then, keeping it half pressed, tweak manually it may work.If you use AF-C the camera will override any tweak/s.If you set Direct Manual Focus (DMF), it will start as AF-S and then go to manual focus mode where you can tweak the focus -- it will stay in manual focus as long as you are in half press shutter button. DMF is even more helpful if you have set Peaking Level and Color.

My only beef with the lens at this point is the difficulty of threading the hood onto the lens; it takes a bit of practice to align the threads.

I originally pre-ordered the 85mm GM here at B&H until I decided to cancel my pre-order because of the issues on the cracking sound of 85mm during focusing. I owned 35mm 1.4, 55mm 1.8, 90 macro 2.8 which has reputation of sharp primes. This lens is tact sharp in all focal length wide open. I'd been using this lens for 2 weeks now and this one will stay in my a7rii 90% of the time. This lens is a perfect combo of a7rii. Yet it's heavy but you know that quality glass, is inside this lens.

After selling my 5d mark 3 and fully switching over to Sony I truly missed my workhorse Canon 24-70mm USM II 2.8. This new Sony 24-70mm 2.8 is amazingly sharp and the color rendition is right up there with the Canon in both stills and video. A huge leap from the Sony Zeiss 24-70mm f4, the only downside of the Sony G Master 24-70mm f 2.8 of the lens was the price tag, but then again it's well worth it as it will be the most used lens in my kit.

Out of the box you can feel that this lens is 'different'. The weight reminds you of the quality components inside. I knew it'd be good, but honestly, I was blown away by the image quality. Yeah, it's big and heavy, which is even more dramatic on the compact A7 series, but I wouldn't sacrifice the IQ of this lens for something smaller and lighter. If you're looking for something compact, this isn't it. If you're looking for a professional lens with extremely high IQ, look no further. I hope this is an indication of the standard that Sony plans to take their cameras and lens line.

My title says it all. I was a devoted Canon shooter for many years and enjoyed (still do) many of their L-series pro lenses. Their 24-70 F2.8L, and now the 24-70 F2.8L II, is a superb medium/wide zoom lens. The current II version inched it even further towards perfection. When I began shooting the Sony A7 series I naturally bought their 24-70 F4. It's a fine lens that will never embarrass you. But it's not anywhere near the Canon 24-70 F2.8L's league. So, on occasion, I would use the Canon 24-70 where I thought I needed extra speed or edge definition. But then came the Sony 24-70mm F2.8 GM. Wow. Color, contrast, edge definition are simply breathtaking across the frame at ever focal length I've inspected. When shooting with the A7RII there is simply nothing that can produce a better image frame. There are, however, two factors to consider before jumping for this lens. The first is its size and weight. It is nearly identical in dimensions to Canon's 24-70 F2.8L II. It's a bag-filler that's perhaps 20% larger and heavier than the F4. It almost seems as if the A7 is mounted on the lens, rather than the reverse. Second, the lens does have some barrel distortion at the wider focal lengths. This becomes moot, however, as it's automatically corrected via the lens's built-in geometry profile when images are loaded into Adobe Lightroom or Capture One, with no apparent consequence to definition. Yes, this is an expensive lens. But it's completely commensurate with the top-line 24-70 workhorse lenses offered by Canon and Nikon. You can make a very powerful argument that it's the only lens most shooters really need. And frankly I've not seen a prime that bests the frames I get from this lens. Wow. Bring on the other GM lenses, Sony!

This is one of the better glass and lens that I have had.. and the interaction with the Sony a7rii are tuned together as a fine tuned engine. Very happy with it
