The battery is housed in a pouch that features a military-style belt clip for attachment around your waist. The XLR connector extends from the pouch on an integrated 3' cable. The light kit I was going to use this on was pretty lame too so I sent everything back and got an IKAN light kit. You cant use the 12v car adaptor with the IKANs but you can use some rechargeable batteries mounted to the back of the lights. This was a much better option for me and I am looking to get more because they have worked so well.an answer to this question.
