The black I2 Bass and Cello Microphone Kit with 3.5mm Locking Connector for Sony ZTX-B01 and ZTX-B02RC Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a mic that has been built from the ground up for smooth frequency response, low noise, and precise polar patterns with deep nulls and natural on- and off-axis response. It can be used to capture natural audio for this instrument.

The I2 microphone is suitable for distance miking that is invisible in front of audiences and on camera. This version features increased sensitivity for distance miking and captures detail for quieter instruments. Flexible close miking techniques are aided by the bass and cello mount, which sits securely behind the bridge with a positioning arm for placement. In addition, the 5' cable is hardwired to the mic and terminates with a 3.5mm locking connector for direct connection to Sony ZTX-B01 and ZTX-B02RC wireless bodypack transmitters.

The I2 maintains excellent pattern control and frequency response at all angles. It offers uncolored recordings and reduced feedback issues.

Flexible close miking techniques are aided by the instrument mounts, which position securely and gently on the instrument for capturing audio.

Small size and sonic precision makes this microphone suitable for X-Y, M-S, and other techniques that rely on accurate, coincident positioning and consistent patterns.

The hypercardioid polar pattern has a narrower pickup pattern in its front than the cardioid polar pattern. It offers better rejection of ambient noise and the working distance is about twice that of the omni polar pattern. The hypercardioid has a small "pickup lobe" directly behind the microphone and exhibits maximum rejection areas behind and to the sides (about 60 degrees away from the rear of the microphone on either side) of the mic. The hypercardioid pattern works best when the loudest unwanted sounds—like speakers—can be positioned in these nulls.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there a bar display or some battery charge indicator?

A: Yes, There is a charge LED (single LED not a bar) indicator on both the transmitter and receiver.

Q: 2. Does the the A7c support charging via USB and/or remote powering via USB?

A: Yes it does. This can be both powered and charged through USB.

Q: 3. Will it fit on a sony ax53 camcorder?

A: Yes, the Sony ECM-W2BT Camera-Mount Digital Bluetooth Wireless Microphone System for Sony Cameras will fit on and work with the Multi Interface Shoe of the Sony FDR-AX53 4K Ultra HD Handycam Camcorder.

Q: 4. Is there any way to set the frequency or digital coding so two identical sets can be used without interference?

A: The frequency can not be changed and you can have up to two systems in the same room without interference

Q: 5. is there a 29 min limit on video?

A: No, its unlimited.

Q: 6. How well does the Sony ECM-674 compare with the Audio Technica AT-897?

A: The ECM-674/9x and Audio Technica AT897 are very similar in features and specifications. There would only be a slight difference tonally.

Q: 7. I got this to go with the sony zv1 camera (shown in sony's own advertising as working). When attaching to the hot shoe I get this error... This accessory is not supported by the device and cannot be used. Is it compatible with the zv1?

A: Yes, the ECM-W2BT is compatible for use with the ZV1 camera. Since the ZV1 has a standard MI shoe (without a digital audio interface) set the switch on the mic to "analog" and make sure the receiver is pushed in all the way on the MI shoe to be certain that it is fully connected. Keep the power for both the camera and the mic off and wait until the receiver is connected before powering them on. If you are still having trouble with the setup, please contact us by phone or through live chat on the website and we can assist you further to resolve the problem.

Q: 8. how is this different or better/worse than the Rode Wireless Go ii. Can't decide between the two. It is for use with the Sony A7iii?

A: Main difference is this is Bluetooth. Bluetooth is usually a format with more latency issues than other wireless formats. It also does not transmit as far. Only about 30 feet max.

Q: 9. When used with the Tamron 28-200mm F2.8-5.6, how well does the A7C balance on a tripod when the lens is fully extended?

A: The balance is fine on a tripod. The Tamron 28-200mm lens is pretty lightweight and even fully extended it doesn't stress the mount or cause an imbalance where a tripod lens collar would be needed.

Q: 10. Could it work to buy 2 Sony ECM-W2BT and use 2 transmitter and 1 receiver on top of camera for a multi person recording? I have to interview 2 people.

A: No. You will need two kits to use two transmitters.

I upgraded from my Sony A7iii. The video capabilities of this new camera are insanely great. The higher resolution of the photos is equally amazing. 10 bit, 4:2:2- Do I need say more?

Autofocus is fast and accurate. Color, contrast, and detail capture at higher ISO is amazing. Articulating screen is cool, but a bit awkward at times and has to be folded out if you want to tilt up/down which cam make getting into smaller areas difficult. Works great with my Rokinon lenses. Tons of customizable buttons and menus makes it easy to turn it into YOUR camera. FTP upload over WiFi means I don't take my memory cards out anymore. No problems using Neewer batteries or charger. Boot time is fast, silent mode helps a ton with animal photography, and the touchscreen is great.

It's a bit bulky but not bad. Grip doesn't feel quite as confident as my a7ii, which is all the more reason I can't wait to get a strap (came with one but I want a Peak Slide). Wish it would have come with an external battery charger; charging via USB is slow and doesn't seem to benefit from fast chargers.

I waited years for this camera and Sony did not disappoint, I've been shooting on my A6300 doing some client work but I've always felt limited especially at night or in dark environments. And doing professional work for major clients I always felt the need to bring my ARRI Alexa. But having tested this I'm satisfied knowing I can leave the bigger bulkier cinema camera at home for even more shoots and get the job done with this.

I mainly work with video, but the photos are also quite beautiful.
Having 10-bit colour and working with S-log is now a joy, and actually pretty easy (coming from the A7III, where the 8-bit colour made using log footage a headache). The random shots i've used Cinetone have looked very good, although, as I said, Log is now actually fun to work with. The customizable flicker reduction is a great feature, and of course the auto focus (especially tracking) are more than enough for my needs. The connection to Sony's Image Edge app is also steady so far.

I love this Camera! After watching countless videos and reviews, I determined what I needed for my new Camera! This one checked off all the boxes for me. Flip out screen, 33 mega pixels, no record time limit! Sure it is pricey but I can see this being my main camera for years to come!

My first Sony but seems to be a quick learning process. I got a kit lens to just start learning the functions. Not used to not getting a battery charger with the camera. Must be a Sony thing, Love the compact size and weight.

The Sony a7 IV mirrorless camera is almost the perfect balance between a photographer's optimal tool and a videographer's first choice for an A- or B-roll camera. The Sony engineers have incorporated almost every wish-list item in this unit and have done so at a very attractive price point. Nearly every reviewer routinely raves about this camera and those negative points (crop mode in 4K 60 and rolling shutter) are merely quibbles in squinting to try to find something with which to find fault. None of these faults are a problem in my real world. I can think of no camera in my lifetime that fulfills almost every need of both the still and video shooter. If you are a still photographer, this unit may open your eyes to the wonders of video. And vice versa. I can recommend this camera without reservation.
