The black I2 Instrument Microphone, High Gain, with TA3F Connector for AKG DPT800, DPT700, PT2000, PT40, PT400, PT4000, PT45, PT450, PT4500, PT470, PT60, PT61, PT80, and PT81 Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a mic that has been engineered from the ground up for natural on- and off-axis frequency response, low-noise, and precise polar patterns with deep nulls. This tiny instrument microphone can be used to capture audio in sound reinforcement applications for saxophone, violin, viola, cello, double bass, acoustic guitars, piano, brass, and percussion instruments.
The I2 instrument microphone is suitable for distance miking that is invisible in front of audiences and on camera. This version features increased sensitivity for distance miking and capturing detail in quieter instruments. It is supplied with a foam windscreen, a basic clip, and a carrying case. In addition, the 5' cable is permanently attached to the mic and terminates to a TA3F connector for direct connection to AKG DPT800, DPT700, PT2000, PT40, PT400, PT4000, PT45, PT450, PT4500, PT470, PT60, PT61, PT80, and PT81 wireless bodypack transmitters.

The I2 maintains excellent pattern control and frequency response at all angles. It offers uncolored recordings and reduced feedback issues.
Flexible close miking techniques can be aided by the various selection of instrument mounts (sold separately), which position securely and gently to strings, brass, and more.
Small size and sonic precision makes this microphone suitable for X-Y, M-S, and other techniques that rely on accurate, coincident positioning, and consistent patterns.
The hypercardioid polar pattern has a narrower pickup pattern in its front than the cardioid polar pattern. It offers better rejection of ambient noise and the working distance is about twice that of the omni polar pattern. The hypercardioid has a small “pickup lobe” directly behind the microphone and exhibits maximum rejection areas behind and to the sides (about 60 degrees away from the rear of the microphone on either side) of the mic. The hypercardioid pattern works best when the loudest unwanted sounds—like speakers—can be positioned in these nulls.
Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Do the DJI Mic 2 transmitters provide plug-in power to the lav mic jack?
A: Yes, the DJI MIC 2 supplies plugin power (approx. 3V) on the lavalier input jacks.
Q: 2. Can it dual record? One on the clip on mic and one on the receiver? So you have redundancy?
A: The DJI Mic 2 2-Person Compact Digital Wireless Microphone System/Recorder's built-in recording feature is done with the transmitters, which have onboard storage. The receiver unit does not have this capability.
Q: 3. Can this device be attached/used with a UAV/drone of some sort?
A: It would not be recommended to attach the DJI Mic 2 2-Person Compact Digital Wireless Microphone System/Recorder for Camera & Smartphone (2.4 GHz) to a drone because the transmitter is not made for attaching to a drone, and the transmitter can easily go out of range from the receiver.
Q: 4. Can I purchase a second transmitter at a separate time, and pair it with the receiver from the first purchase?
A: Yes. The DJI Mic 2 Clip-On Transmitter/Recorder with Built-In Microphone (B&H # DJMIC21TXSBK) can be added to the DJI Mic 2 Compact Digital Wireless Microphone System/Recorder for Camera & Smartphone (B&H # DJMIC21TX1RX) as a second transmitter.
Q: 5. I have an OSMO mobile 6 and an iPhone 13. I want to know does the Mic 2 could link with Mic 2 via Bluetooth on iPhone 13?
A: The DJI Mic 2 Clip-On Transmitter/Recorder with Built-In Microphone can connect to the DJI Osmo Pocket 3, the DJI Action 4, and compatible smartphones (including the iPhone 13) using Bluetooth. This allows for audio recording without using the receiver or the transmitter's internal recording.
Q: 6. Will the transmitter prevent you from accidentally pressing buttons while it is recording?
A: Regarding the DJI Mic 2 2-Person Compact Digital Wireless Microphone System/Recorder for Camera & Smartphone (2.4 GHz), the DJI Mic 2 transmitter controls cannot be locked.
Q: 7. Hello, when the gain settings are adjusted on the Transmitter (TX) does that effect the levels of the internal 32 bit recording?
A: Yes, increasing the gain will result in higher levels in the internal 32-Bit recording with the DJI MIC 2.
Q: 8. Are these mics comparable with osmo pocket 3?
A: Yes, the DJI Mic 2 2-Person Compact Digital Wireless Microphone System/Recorder for Camera & Smartphone (2.4 GHz) is fully compatible with the DJI Osmo Pocket 3.
Q: 9. Does this one mic system come with a charging case and lavalier mic? or do they need to be bought separately?
A: No, the single transmitter version of the DJI Mic 2 does not come with a charging case. You will need to purchase the DJI Charging Case for Mic 2 (B&H # DJMICK2CC) separately.
Q: 10. This works with the Osmo Action 4 correct? I only need this one unit? No wires/connection required?
A: Yes, the DJI Mic 2 Clip-On Transmitter/Recorder with Built-In Microphone (2.4 GHz, Shadow Black) is compatible with the DJI Osmo Action 4 Camera. The camera can connect directly to the transmitter via Bluetooth, so there is no need to use a cable or to plug in the DJI Mic 2 Receiver.
