The black I2 Bass and Cello Microphone Kit with TA3F Connector for Audix B60 Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a mic that has been built from the ground up for smooth frequency response, low noise, and precise polar patterns with deep nulls and natural on- and off-axis response. It can be used to capture natural audio for this instrument.

The I2 microphone is suitable for distance miking that is invisible in front of audiences and on camera. This version features increased sensitivity for distance miking and captures detail for quieter instruments. Flexible close miking techniques are aided by the bass and cello mount, which sits securely behind the bridge with a positioning arm for placement. In addition, the 5' cable is hardwired to the mic and terminates with a TA3F connector for direct connection to Audix B60 wireless bodypack transmitters.

The I2 maintains excellent pattern control and frequency response at all angles. It offers uncolored recordings and reduced feedback issues.

Flexible close miking techniques are aided by the instrument mounts, which position securely and gently on the instrument for capturing audio.

Small size and sonic precision makes this microphone suitable for X-Y, M-S, and other techniques that rely on accurate, coincident positioning and consistent patterns.

The omnidirectional polar pattern picks up sound from all directions equally offering the flattest frequency response, lowest noise level, and is least susceptible to wind noise and vibration. It is recommended for recording and sound reinforcement of acoustic instruments such as percussion, guitar, saxophone, and piano.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How to connect it to a Zoom Q8?

A: You have two options for connecting the Rode Wireless GO II 2-Person Compact Digital Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System to the Zoom Q8 Handy Video Recorder. The Q8 has a single 3.5mm TRS mic input as well as two XLR-1/4" combo jacks, so you have the option of using either of the inputs. If you want to connect to the 3.5mm mic input on the Q8, you can use the included Rode SC5 3.5mm TRS Memory Cable that comes with the Wireless GO II system or use any other standard audio cable with 3.5mm TRS male connectors such as the Kopul CMX-RC30 Right-Angle Coiled Stereo Mini Cable (B&H # KOCMXRC30B). For connection to the XLR inputs, you can use any 3.5mm TRS male to dual XLR cable such as the Cable Techniques 3.5mm Right-Angle TRS to Dual Low-Profile 3-Pin XLR Male Y Cable - 15" (B&H # CATGO2YX3M15), or the Kopul Y-Cable with 1/8" TRS Stereo Mini to 2 XLR Male Connectors - 3' (B&H # KOSMYCM2XM03). The Cable Techniques Y-cable has low-profile XLR connectors.

Q: 2. Could this microphone be useful when put on a player during a game? (aka mic'd up)

Q: 6. ..so you don't need an audio recorder for these?

Q: 7. Is this compatible with a Canon Vixia HFS30 camcorder?

A: Yes, the Rode Wireless GO II 2-Person Compact Digital Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System/Recorder Kit is compatible for use with the 3.5mm mic input on a Canon VIXIA HF S30 Camcorder.

Q: 8. Can both transmitters be written to the same stereo file, in mono on the receiver’s output? Example: Transmitter 1 on the left, transmitter 2 on the right? I use a Tascam 701D w/NTG-4, Video Mic X, on 3 of the XLR inputs and would love to use the 4th XLR input to record the two mono lav’ mic signals.

A: Yes, the output from both transmitters can be combined and recorded as a two-channel mono or stereo file. In mono mode, the audio from both transmitters will be heard together on the left and right in dual mono, which means that you will hear the exact same sounds through the left and right. Each side will have the audio from the two transmitters mixed together so you hear both transmitters simultaneously on both sides. In stereo mode, you can separate the audio from the two transmitters to hear one transmitter on the left and the other transmitter on the right.

If you are having trouble with the app not recognizing the transmitter(s), you may want to try doing a firmware update.

I bought this specifically to record ambients but quickly discovered how flexible the Zoom H6 is.  Everything works perfectly, it records very clean audio (in my opinion), the mics that come with it are great (I would say similar quality to a mic that costs twice what I paid for everything), 6 discrete and customizable channels (that was a huge selling point).  Its lite-weight and easy to use.  The deadcat is 100% worth the little extra it adds onto the price.

I purchased this to interview family members and create podcasts. I have used this device for about 1 month.

I am a complete novice to standalone recording devices. I found this device easy to use and I was able to easily adjust levels, use multiple recording channels etc. without having to dive too deep into the instruction manual. It also sounds great.

My understanding is from reading reviews that this is not an entry level device but novices/amateurs do not need to shy away from this recorder because it can be used professionally.

Additionally, it is a very fair price point.

The sound quality is great and maybe is the best portable sound recorder.
You're able to record audio in separated channels.
