The black I2 Bass and Cello Microphone Kit with TA5F Connector for Audio Technica ATW-T101 Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a mic that has been built from the ground up for smooth frequency response, low noise, and precise polar patterns with deep nulls and natural on- and off-axis response. It can be used to capture natural audio for this instrument.

The I2 microphone is suitable for distance miking that is invisible in front of audiences and on camera. This version features increased sensitivity for distance miking and captures detail for quieter instruments. Flexible close miking techniques are aided by the bass and cello mount, which sits securely behind the bridge with a positioning arm for placement. In addition, the 5' cable is hardwired to the mic and terminates with a TA5F connector for direct connection to Audio Technica ATW-T101 wireless bodypack transmitters.

The I2 maintains excellent pattern control and frequency response at all angles. It offers uncolored recordings and reduced feedback issues.

Flexible close miking techniques are aided by the instrument mounts, which position securely and gently on the instrument for capturing audio.

Small size and sonic precision makes this microphone suitable for X-Y, M-S, and other techniques that rely on accurate, coincident positioning and consistent patterns.

The omnidirectional polar pattern picks up sound from all directions equally offering the flattest frequency response, lowest noise level, and is least susceptible to wind noise and vibration. It is recommended for recording and sound reinforcement of acoustic instruments such as percussion, guitar, saxophone, and piano.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Im seeing a few reviews about this thing recording a layer of static throughout? Has anyone figured out what causes this? Its the only thing making me worried about purchasing it?

A: Hi there! Ive been using this for professional projects for a while now and have had no issues with it and no static. As a matter of fact its been roughed up a bit sometimes on shoots and it really holds up

Q: 2. Does this work with a Sennheiser 1/8" screw down mic?

A: Yes the Tascam DR-10L will work with the same kind of microphone that would be compatible with Sennheiser Evolution series systems that have the threaded 1/8'' TRS connector.

Q: 3. Is there a way to download the audio files to a MacBook Pro running Mac OS 10.13.4 (High Sierra) without taking the memory card out? When I connect the DR-10L with the suppled USB cable, it does not show up on my desktop. What is the file format of the memory card?

A: .WAV file it the format it records.

Q: 4. Is this better than the BoomX-U?

A: Neither unit is better than the other. This unit works in the 2.4ghz range and slightly simpler to pair, while the BoomX-U is based in the UHF frequency range. The X-D would be great for close range quick setups, will the X-U would be great for longer distance interviews in a challenging wi-fi environment.

Q: 5. Is the Comica Audio Boomx-D wireless microphone compatible with the CANON VIXIA HF R800 Camcorder?

A: Yes, this system is compatible with your camcorder. Just a couple things to look out for: the wireless system comes with two output cables, one is TRS to TRS and the other is TRS to TRRS. You want to use the TRS to TRS when connecting to the camcorder. Both ends look the same and have two black band (TRRS has three black bands). Also, your camcorder does not have a shoe mount for the receiver, so to make things easy we recommend using a shoe mount bracket, like this one from Vello: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1472520-REG/vello_cb_550_dual_shoe_bracket.html

Q: 6. Is there a recommended foam windscreen to cover the metal one? I tried mine out in the field for the first time and it worked beautifully. However, it would have been nice to have a foam windscreen.

A: Jeremy,We don't make one but they are available from other companies.Thank you for your interest in TASCAM products.

Q: 7. Does the receiver have an SD card slot or a way to store the audio files without a camera or phone?

A: The receiver does not record audio files by itself. To record audio without a camera or phone, you plug this system into an external audio recorder, and record to an SD card, such as this B&H # ZOH1N.

Q: 8. How can I monitor audio if someone is wearing the microphone?

A: Or you could hook up a inexpensive tiny Bluetooth transmitter to it and use any Bluetooth headset up to 50-100ft away. Even the person on can could do this. Keep one earbud in.

Q: 9. can the Lav mic be used with my Sony UWP-D16 wireless system?

A: Sorry, we are not sure. That might be a better question for Sony.Thank you for your interest in TASCAM products.

Q: 10. What sort of windscreen comes with it? Necessary to buy an additional one to minimize breaths and pops?

A: It's a standard slip on cap windscreen -- I have found it to be more than sufficient for wind, particularly mounted inside -- I don;t get a lot of breath noise at that distance/angle -- main issue is clothing rustle.
