We suggest that you lay out your gear on a table and measure how much space it uses and take it from there. We would like to suggest considering putting your camera, lenses, batteries and chargers, and accessories all in separate cases. Having one big case becomes unwieldy on set. A: This is a very sturdy stand which can support a large amount of weight, However with a large softbox you're definitely creating a high center of gravity, I recommend at least 1 pumpkin weight (linked below) usual used on booms, however they clamp easily to the leg of this stand and don't negatively effect mobility as a sandbag would.

A: To answer my own question (for others that might be wondering), I ended up buying the Manfrotto 1 1/8 (28mm) Male Adapter . With a couple modifications (two 3/8 nuts and a wide washer) I was able to mount my SKB laptop case perfectly!

A: We tried to fit the Manfrotto FAST GimBoom Carbon Fiber (1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 Mounting Stud) in a Manfrotto Pro Light Reloader Tough-55 Low Lid Carry-On Camera Rollerbag in the store and it doesn't fit. If you don't plan on using the dividers and take those out, it can fit diagonally.
