The black I2 Instrument Microphone, High Gain, with 3.5mm Locking Connector for Senal AWS-2000T Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a mic that has been engineered from the ground up for natural on- and off-axis frequency response, low-noise, and precise polar patterns with deep nulls. This tiny instrument microphone can be used to capture audio in sound reinforcement applications for saxophone, violin, viola, cello, double bass, acoustic guitars, piano, brass, and percussion instruments.

The I2 instrument microphone is suitable for distance miking that is invisible in front of audiences and on camera. This version features increased sensitivity for distance miking and capturing detail in quieter instruments. It is supplied with a foam windscreen, a basic clip, and a carrying case. In addition, the 5' cable is permanently attached to the mic and terminates to a 3.5mm locking connector for direct connection to Senal AWS-2000T wireless bodypack transmitters.

The I2 maintains excellent pattern control and frequency response at all angles. It offers uncolored recordings and reduced feedback issues.

Flexible close miking techniques can be aided by the various selection of instrument mounts (sold separately), which position securely and gently to strings, brass, and more.

Small size and sonic precision makes this microphone suitable for X-Y, M-S, and other techniques that rely on accurate, coincident positioning, and consistent patterns.

The cardioid polar pattern is effective for picking up sound directly in front of the microphone and is less sensitive to sound directly behind the microphone. It picks up about 1/3 less ambient noise than the omnidirectional polar pattern, so the working distance (the distance a performer could be positioned from the microphone) is approximately 1.7 times that of the omni. The cardioid pattern works best when you can position the microphone directly towards the sound you wish to record (a lead singer, for example) and directly away from unwanted sound sources like a crowd or a loud monitor).

Q: 1. which is your best xlr to usb microphone adapter?

A: I bought two and they both had bad line hum. B& H happily accepted both returns. For a few dollars more,Shure has the same type of adapter/. I bought one. It works great.

Q: 2. Can additional adjustable insulated locking shoes be purchased?

A: Yes, please check out the FB-TGSMA Impact True Grip Shoe Mount Adapter. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1265089-REG/impact_fb_tgsma_true_grip_shoe_mount.html

Q: 3. Do the cold-shoe mounts on the bar allow for the flashes to swivel left and right? I assume so. For instance on one bar, lets say I have 2 flash units that I want each pointed out at 45 degree angles (as opposed to straight as into an umbrella) thanks in advance :)

A: Yes, I have mounted 2 Canon 600EX RTs on the top and 2 on the bottom. Using this with the Westcott Orb and find it easier to mount the speedlites prior to attaching the softbox.

Q: 4. Who actually consider 16bits and 48khz Studio quality anymore? Releases on DVDs and Bluray give REAL studio quality including but not limited to 24 bit 96 khz. Now if this had at the very least a 24 bit option. it might be worth the $60 your asking.

Q: 5. I've read the specs on both, how does the Senal XU-1648 compare with the Shure X2U in use?

A: The Senal is very similar in use to that of the Shure. The Shure would handle dynamic mics better since it has more gain, but for condenser mics the Senal would be very comparable.

Q: 6. Will these work with 25mm C stands?

A: No; casters are not recommended for use with C-stands. Attempting to use casters on C-stands can make the stand unstable and dangerous. We do not have casters designed or recommended for use on C-stands.

Q: 7. Will this XLR-to-USB interface work with the NADY RSM-5 ribbon microphone? The product description mentions condenser and dynamic microphones but not the ribbon type.

A: Yes you can, just don't turn on the phantom power while using it with ribbon mics as it may induce noise.

Q: 8. Does the Phantom Power for Condenser Mikes come from the USB or does this unit use batteries?

A: It is USB powered.

Q: 9. Can these feet be attached to the (now discontinued) Benro carbon fiber monopod model MC96EX?

A: There are a few different versions of that old monopod you are referring to. If the monopod you have the foot can come off and the female thread is 3/8 the 3-leg locking base will fit.

Q: 10. Do you need a Cloudlifter with this interface? I want to pair it with the Rode PodMic, but I do podcast recording/editing on audacity.

A: No, a Cloudlifter is not required for the Rode PodMic and in most applications, people who use the PodMic do not need additional gain. The Senal XU-1648 XLR-USB Interface provides up to 35 dB of gain. If you do find that more gain is desired, the Cloudlifer can be added to the signal chain as an optional accessory.
