The black Countryman E6X Directional Earset Mic, Low Gain with Detachable 1mm Cable and 2.5mm waterproof locking Connector for Lectrosonics Wireless Transmitters is a versatile blend of the E6 and the E6i earset that features a springy, thin earpiece and a flexible boom and is suitable for use when a few people will be using the same mic.

The E6X earset can be used on either ear for capturing audio and rejecting unwanted sound, feedback, or surrounding noise from stage monitors or nearby speakers in houses of worship, theater, and outdoor vocal and speech applications.

The low-profile, directional E6X earset virtually disappears against the skin, so performers will forget they're wearing a mic. This version offers the lowest gain for the most powerful vocals that require the highest overload. Additionally, the earset comes with two pattern-changeable protective caps for maximum isolation and gain before feedback. This directional E6X earset's cable terminates to a 2.5mm waterproof locking connector for direct connection to Lectrosonics WM wireless bodypack transmitters.

The Countryman earsets are very small, lightweight, and the least visible headworn microphones.

The E6 Flex or E6X offers a versatile blend of the E6 and the E6i. With a springy, thin earpiece and a flexible boom, the E6 Flex is secure on the ear and fast to fit without compromising true invisibility and sound.

The E6X's stainless steel boom is tough and can be bent and re-bent to fit different performers. It is highly resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. The earset should always have a protective cap in place to keep sweat, makeup, and other foreign material out of the microphone.

The E6X earset's flexible boom is easily shaped right on the performer's face. Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. The directional earset protective caps adjust the pattern from cardioid to hypercardioid.

Easy adjustment keeps the mic in a comfortable position for rejecting unwanted sounds. The directional E6X earset provides more isolation and is suitable for situations where there are loud monitors, extreme feedback, or environmental noise.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual earset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate most wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this be hooked up to a speaker to hear the recorded music?

A: Yes. It has a built in speaker as well.

Q: 2. Is the 1/8 line out a balanced TRS connection?

A: Yes it is TRS, No it is not balanced. Its a stereo line output.

Q: 3. How to connect Nikon D750 and syn the video and Zoom H6 audio?

A: To connect the H6's 3.5mm Line out to the camera's 3.5mm Mic in you will use an attenuator cable, like this one from Whirlwind. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/767986-REG/Whirlwind_WHH4NL3_5_WHH4NL3_5_Line_to_Microphone.html Because there is no time code involved, to sync you will need a software based solution, like Plural Eyes. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1226419-REG/red_giant_sho_pluraleyes4_d_pluraleyes_4_download.html

Q: 4. I remember hearing that you can use a power brick with the Zoom H6 (plug the power brick into the USB port). Can anyone confirm if this is correct, and if so, are there limitations / recommendations on power brick specs?

A: I've used the Zoom H6 plugged via the USB port without a problem.

Q: 5. Does the H6 have output capabilities if you wanted to use as a remote unit for an on-site broadcast? (Or is it strictly a recording device?)

A: It is primarily a recording device. It does have 1 unbalanced 3.5mm line output.

Q: 6. Can it charge NiMH AA batteries directly via USB?

A: No. The USB is just for audio transfer.

Q: 7. what year is this recorder model, 2019 or 2020?

A: We receive new inventory for the H6 frequently from Zoom so our stock is from the current year (2020).

Q: 8. Is this a good mic for interviews? Like voice over quality interview? Im trying to choose between this or the Sennheiser MKE 600 Shotgun mic, some help would be REALLY helpful.

A: I have compared the Zoom capsules to the MKE via YouTube demos and bought the MKE. It’s got a nice ‘broadcast tone’ but mildly so and not gauzy like an SM7b. It also has less noise and greater off-axis rejection than any of the Zoom capsules. Also, it’s free from the proprietary tethering which afflict the capsules. The mic is much larger and heavier, however. Ideally, you’d get both the MKE and an external recorder like this H6 or similar. I’d consider the capsules for limited budget, convenience & stereo recording but not for the utmost in sound quality, directionality or independence.

Q: 9. One of the uses I want is for across the table interviews, using only the mics provided. Using the MSH-6 module, can the bi-directional part of the mic work to adequately record both the subject and the interviewer with adequate quality and volume level? If not, would using one lapel mic on one channel work while using either of the provided mics as the other?

A: I can not speak for the lapel mic but the recorder meets my expectations when speaking across the table with someone. When a third person is involved in a recorded conversation, I do use some cardioid mics just due to the cross talk and feel it makes the recording a bit more crisp and clear.

Q: 10. Are USB microphones compatible with this device?

A: No. You'll need microphones with 1/4 or XLR plugs.
