Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. If I use rechargeable batteries will they recharge in the unit or do I need a separate battery charger?

A: You will need to get a separate charger. Batteries cannot be recharged inside the recorder.

Q: 2. Do you have a product that goes as high as 24 bits?

A: The Zoom H6 Portable Handy Recorder (B&H # ZOH6B) will record WAV audio at 24-bit / 96 kHz and has the ability to record four mics on four tracks at the same time and it also has a built-in USB audio interface, like the Zoom PodTrak P4 Portable Multitrack Podcast Recorder.

Q: 3. For podcasting, how does this compare with the Zoom H6? I understand that it handles phone calls more easily, but would the H6 be a better choice?

A: This unit is excellent for podcasting in that it provides 70db of gain for dynamic podcast style mics, has 4 dedicated headphone outs built in, and is designed specifically for taking phone calls and recording zoom or skype sessions over usb. For no more than 2-4 people, or 2 people and a phone caller or internet interview, this would be a better purchase for podcasting than the H6.

Q: 4. Can you use this to record non podcast audio? Example for recording audio via shotgun mic for commercial video work?

A: Sure can. Plug in your microphone and use it as you would a standard mixer/recorder.

Q: 5. Can it support 1TB SDXC card?

A: Memory Card Support: SDHC (4 GB to 32 GB) SDXC (64 GB to 512 GB)

Q: 6. Will this setup work out of the box with EVRE20 & SMB7?

A: Yes, the O.C. White Podcast Pro can be used with the RE20 and SM7b. You will just need to have a mount or shockmount for the mic. The Podcast Pro has a standard 5/8" thread like a typical mic stand.

Q: 7. What is the audio quality of of the audio being sent back to the phone call interviewee? Is it the same as the headphone quality? Does that differ from what is recorded to the SD card? Thanks!

A: The way you hear it on the headphones should be the same the the rcorder captures that conversation from the phone

Q: 8. When moving files to PC, will the file names show me the date and time of the recording? Or will there be a way to tell when it was recorded?

A: The folder which holds the multitrak files has the date/time as part of its name, but the files within the folder do not. The stereo file has the date/time as part of its name.

Q: 9. Is there a desk insert accessory that takes the place of the vice mount, for permanent mounting, like the PSA-1 comes with? If not what is the diameter of the anchor and will it work with the PSA-1 permanent desk insert?

A: No, the c-clamp is fixed to the arm.

Q: 10. Would this work with the hyper x quadcast s mic? I mean as far as being able to hold it good enough as it is a very heavy microphone

A: Yes, the O.C. White Podcast Pro Mic Boom Package by Accu-Lite is compatible for use with the HyperX QuadCast S USB Condenser Microphone. The boom arm can support a loud of 1.4 to 2.5 pounds and the microphone weighs 1.6 pounds.
