The black I2 Instrument Microphone, Standard Gain, with 4-Pin Hirose Connector for Sony DWT-B01, DWT-G01, DWT-S01, and DWT-V01 Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a mic that has been engineered from the ground up for natural on- and off-axis frequency response, low-noise, and precise polar patterns with deep nulls. This tiny instrument microphone can be used to capture audio in sound reinforcement applications for saxophone, violin, viola, cello, double bass, acoustic guitars, piano, brass, and percussion instruments.

The I2 instrument microphone is suitable for distance miking that is invisible in front of audiences and on camera. This version offers a standard gain and is suitable for close miking and loud instruments like horns. It is supplied with a foam windscreen, a basic clip, and a carrying case. In addition, the 5' cable is permanently attached to the mic and terminates to a 4-pin Hirose connector for direct connection to Sony DWT-B01, DWT-G01, DWT-S01, and DWT-V01 wireless bodypack transmitters.

The I2 maintains excellent pattern control and frequency response at all angles. It offers uncolored recordings and reduced feedback issues.

Flexible close miking techniques can be aided by the various selection of instrument mounts (sold separately), which position securely and gently to strings, brass, and more.

Small size and sonic precision makes this microphone suitable for X-Y, M-S, and other techniques that rely on accurate, coincident positioning, and consistent patterns.

The hypercardioid polar pattern has a narrower pickup pattern in its front than the cardioid polar pattern. It offers better rejection of ambient noise and the working distance is about twice that of the omni polar pattern. The hypercardioid has a small “pickup lobe” directly behind the microphone and exhibits maximum rejection areas behind and to the sides (about 60 degrees away from the rear of the microphone on either side) of the mic. The hypercardioid pattern works best when the loudest unwanted sounds—like speakers—can be positioned in these nulls.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it compatible with Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 III Digital Camera ?

A: READ INSTRUCTIONS

Q: 2. What is the difference between a timer remote controller and a timer remote switch?

A: In the most simple versions, there is NO difference between a 'timer' and 'switch'. However, variations such as wireless vs. wired do add functionality and complexity. The Vello is a fine alternative for the pricier major brand names (Nikob, Canon, etc)

Q: 3. Will vello ShutterBoss II wireless work with Nikon D500

A: I had to connect the release with the cable to my D500 because the battery in the receiver was dead when I went to use it and that worked just fine.

Q: 4. The one I got does NOT work with Nikon D850. Anybody has the same experience?

A: Mine is acting up. It does not release the shutter but shoes the timer counting down. It has worked in the past so maybe it is a short in the wiring. I am ordering a replacement and hope this will resolve the issue.

Q: 5. How long is the cable?

A: The cable measures 35 inches.

Q: 6. Can the Vello ShutterBoss II also trip the record button/function for making videos? I use a Nikon D750 camera.

A: Yes. The D750 has the ability to assign the shutter button to start/stop video recording. The instructions to do so are found on page 373 of the Nikon D750 user's manual: https://bhpho.to/3gyrFH5 Once the shutter button is the start/stop button for video, this remote, which activates the shutter button, can start and stop the video.

Q: 7. It will work with fuji xt2?

A: No, this is listed as compatible with Canon, Pentax, Samsung and Sigma. The B&H # VERCWIINK would work with Fujifilm and Nikon cameras.

Q: 8. Will it work with a Canon EOS T1i?

A: The Canon EOS T1i works with the Vello ShutterBoss II Timer Remote Switch for Canon with Sub Mini Connection, BH #VERCC12 specifically. https://bhpho.to/3AOtZlq

Q: 9. Is there any advantage of buying a wired timer remote versus buying a wireless timer remote? Or vice versus? Is one really better than the other?

A: The wired remote always works the same cannot be said for the wireless plus I believe it uses up more battery in your camera. The always works is what I want and having a cable is not a big deal.

Q: 10. Does this remote work for time lapse photography? I have the Sony a6000.

A: I have been using it for time lapse photography but I am not sure if it works with a6000. I am using a7r.
