The black I2 Instrument Microphone, Standard Gain, with 3.5mm Locking Connector for Happie Amp or Empower Sound Happie Amp and Amazing Amp Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a mic that has been engineered from the ground up for natural on- and off-axis frequency response, low-noise, and precise polar patterns with deep nulls. This tiny instrument microphone can be used to capture audio in sound reinforcement applications for saxophone, violin, viola, cello, double bass, acoustic guitars, piano, brass, and percussion instruments.
The I2 instrument microphone is suitable for distance miking that is invisible in front of audiences and on camera. This version offers a standard gain and is suitable for close miking and loud instruments like horns. It is supplied with a foam windscreen, a basic clip, and a carrying case. In addition, the 5' cable is permanently attached to the mic and terminates to a 3.5mm locking connector for direct connection to Happie Amp or Empower Sound Happie Amp and Amazing Amp wireless bodypack transmitters.

The I2 maintains excellent pattern control and frequency response at all angles. It offers uncolored recordings and reduced feedback issues.
Flexible close miking techniques can be aided by the various selection of instrument mounts (sold separately), which position securely and gently to strings, brass, and more.
Small size and sonic precision makes this microphone suitable for X-Y, M-S, and other techniques that rely on accurate, coincident positioning, and consistent patterns.
The hypercardioid polar pattern has a narrower pickup pattern in its front than the cardioid polar pattern. It offers better rejection of ambient noise and the working distance is about twice that of the omni polar pattern. The hypercardioid has a small “pickup lobe” directly behind the microphone and exhibits maximum rejection areas behind and to the sides (about 60 degrees away from the rear of the microphone on either side) of the mic. The hypercardioid pattern works best when the loudest unwanted sounds—like speakers—can be positioned in these nulls.

Q: 1. Will this film work in a bolex reflex s1 camera?
A: Yes, the Fomapan R100 is compatible with the Bolex Reflex S1 camera.
Q: 2. will foma r100 work in a bolex zoom reflex p1?
A: Yes the Foma Fomapan R100 Black and White Transparency Film (Double Standard 8mm, 32.8' Reel) will work in the bolex zoom reflex p1. Note, you will need an empty spool as well. The Fomapan comes on one daylight spool that will fit regardless of the any capacity you may read about. The film itself is actually 16mm wide with double the amount of perforations as compared to regular 16mm. The film runs through the camera, exposing one side of the film creating a 8mm image, and stops at the end of its 32' / 10m length. Then the user has to find a dim area to open the camera, exchange the reels, re-thread, running back to the beginning with this time exposing the OTHER side of the film. The lab processing the film runs the developed film through a slitter and cements the ends together to get 64'/ 20m of film.
Q: 3. Would this film work in a Revere 8, model 88?
A: Yes, this film will work in any REGULAR 8mm camera, also called a STANDARD 8mm camera. These are the older 8mm cameras made beforeSuper 8 was introduced. The film comes in a open roll, not a cartridge. When you load the camera be sure to do so in dim light so you won't fog the film. Hope you still have the empty take-up reel in the camera! Thenexpose the film correctly for 100ASA and be sure to focus the camera.Check the internet for 8mm black and white processing. Shooting movieson film is expensive but I believe it is more fun and rewarding than shootingon video. Good luck! JB
Q: 4. is this silent film? or does it have a magnetic sound strip?
A: Hi, FOMAPAN R100 is Double 8mm SILENT filmstock. Double 8mm was once made with a magnetic sound stripe, but this was over 35 years ago. Double 8mm is actually Regular 8mm film (after processing and slitting down from its 16mm width to 8mm film width). Super 8mm motion picture film was made available in a magnetic sound version (since there were many Super 8mm sound cameras, as well as sound projectors made in the heyday of Super 8mm filmmaking), but all sound filmstock was discontinued by the four main manufacturers by the late 1990s (FUJI aka their Single-8 Super 8mm type film, KODAK, AGFA, and SAKURA....of which various other label and store brand films were made from these also). Keep in mind this particular filmstock FOMAPAN R-100 DOUBLE 8mm is intended for Double 8mm movie cameras (not to be confused with Super 8mm, nor the Double Super 8mm cousin which employs also a 16mm width film but with Super 8mm perforations and although didn't replace Regular 8mm film, but many cameras were made for this parallel format.....NOTE: the two formats are not compatible nor interchangeable with each other). I apologize in advance for any overkill in this information, since there are many whom desire to work in the 8mm gauges, but aren't aware of the variations. By the way, this is a super silver rich old world stock that delivers deep blacks, nice texured grain, decent midtones and clean whites. This film can also be push processed, as well as done in a nice rich brown Sepia tone. Note, that not all labs can properly process this film, since the B&W Reversal process changed a few years back to accommodate the EPA in the USA, so there are some processing problems and some labs won't do this film. I personally love this filmstock and if you enjoy B&W film, so will you. Best regard, Martin Baumgarten
Q: 5. Can you please tell me who in the US processes this film?
A: Hello,Check out CINELABS: We process all Regular 8mm, Super 8mm and Max 8mm films . http://bhpho.to/1dk0Hat
Q: 6. Do you know who still processes double 8mm? I checked with PRO8mm and they apparently dont anymore.
A: Spectra Film and Video in California still processes double 8mm film, both color and B&W, including Fomapan R. Spectra also sells double 8mm film. Also, Dwayne's Photo in Kansas sells and processes double 8mm film, but only color. Another company, dr5 in Denver, Colorado specializes in processing Fomapan R, but they don't split the film from 16mm into 8mm. You'll have to buy a splitter on eBay and do that yourself.
Q: 7. Will this film work with a Paillard Bolec C8?
A: Yes, most definitely since it was designed and intended to be used in Double 8mm cameras, of which the small compact BOLEX C8 is.
Q: 8. How much footage can you shoot on this film, according to the different frame rates? How many minutes for 16, 18, and 24fps?
A: If you shoot at 16fps (which is usually the average speed of a 8mm projector) you will get about 4 minutes of usable footage. 24fps usually looks a bit better for digital transfers. Fogging of film can/will occur at the beginning and end of the reel as it will be exposed to some light when flipping the roll... this will cut down on the amount of usable film to use.
Q: 9. What is the expiration date? When were they manufactured?
A: B&H buys and sells film in bulk. In general we regularly maintain fresh film stock. All of our film is at least 6 months from expiration (typically much longer). Anytime film stock is less than 6 months from expiration we sell it in a separate section and label it as short-dated film and also price it with a slight discount (again due to the volumes we sell this rarely occurs). Unfortunately we do not have access to our inventory to hand inspect the expiration date of any of our films prior to purchase.
Q: 10. Will this film work with a Minolta XL 601?
A: No. This is regular 8mm film. Your camera uses super 8mm film. That type of film is also avaliable on this site.
