The black Countryman E6X Directional Earset Mic, Medium Gain with Detachable 1mm Cable and 2.5mm waterproof locking Connector for Lectrosonics Wireless Transmitters is a versatile blend of the E6 and the E6i earset that features a springy, thin earpiece and a flexible boom and is suitable for use when a few people will be using the same mic.
The E6X earset can be used on either ear for capturing audio and rejecting unwanted sound, feedback, or surrounding noise from stage monitors or nearby speakers in houses of worship, theater, and outdoor vocal and speech applications.
The low-profile, directional E6X earset virtually disappears against the skin, so performers will forget they're wearing a mic. This version offers medium gain for very loud speaking, such as in theater performances and most vocals. Additionally, the earset comes with two pattern-changeable protective caps for maximum isolation and gain before feedback. This directional E6X earset's cable terminates to a 2.5mm waterproof locking connector for direct connection to Lectrosonics WM wireless bodypack transmitters.

The Countryman earsets are very small, lightweight, and the least visible headworn microphones.
The E6 Flex or E6X offers a versatile blend of the E6 and the E6i. With a springy, thin earpiece and a flexible boom, the E6 Flex is secure on the ear and fast to fit without compromising true invisibility and sound.
The E6X's stainless steel boom is tough and can be bent and re-bent to fit different performers. It is highly resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. The earset should always have a protective cap in place to keep sweat, makeup, and other foreign material out of the microphone.
The E6X earset's flexible boom is easily shaped right on the performer's face. Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. The directional earset protective caps adjust the pattern from cardioid to hypercardioid.
Easy adjustment keeps the mic in a comfortable position for rejecting unwanted sounds. The directional E6X earset provides more isolation and is suitable for situations where there are loud monitors, extreme feedback, or environmental noise.
The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual earset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate most wireless transmitters.
Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Can I mount it on a boom pole?
A: with some rigging, yes. I use velcro.
Q: 2. I would like to cover the 4 xlr ports since I've been using the mics that come with the Zoom H6. Can anyone tell me where I can purchase 4 xlr port covers that will fit the Zoom H6? Thanks.
A: We are not aware of any compatible covers.
Q: 3. Why is this package discontinued? Are all of the individual components still available? I was planning on purchasing this exact package sometime soon, but just looked to see it was discontinued.
A: The WindTech CM-70 Digital Recorder Camera Mount B&H # WICM70 is no longer available.
Q: 4. I'm concerned about the description of the -12db backup recording. Obviously you want to use professional-quality XLR mics, but the manual says that the backup-recording feature only applies to the L/R inputs. But those appear to be the inputs for the attachable modules, not the phantom-powering XLR connectors on the unit. The optional XLR module doesn't provide phantom power. This means the backup-recording feature is useless for phantom-powered mics! Is this really the situation? What is the point of having this feature if it can't be used with high-quality mics for location recording, which is when you need that feature the most? Thanks for any insight.
A: As far as we know this is the case. A back-up recording in this device is just that - a back-up, insurance recording - just in case of disaster. Something is better than nothing. Backup-recordthe ultimate safety net. When turned on during the recording of WAV files, the H6 automatically records a duplicate set of L/R tracks, but with 12dB less input gain. Even if the original L/R track is distorted, chances are the Backup version is fine. You can listen to either set of tracks simply by going to the Backup File option in the PROJECT menu. When turned OFF, you'll hear the original L/R tracks; when turned ON, you'll hear the lower-level Backup tracks instead. Pick the one you prefer and use it as your L/R master. Bacon saved.
Q: 5. Any tips on a case (like a portabrace) that also holds two receivers for wireless lavs? I find with the H4N, it's just a precarious jumble of cables, but at the least the XLR inputs came out on one side.
A: Currently, there is not a case available that will house a Zoom H4N and 2 wireless receivers. You may however consider a Porta Brace AO-1X Audio Organizer Case (B&H#POAO1X). The internal dimensions of 10 x 6 x 6 allows ample room for a Zoom recorder, a couple of wireless receivers and more.
Q: 6. Is the included XY mic good enough for interviews(without a lav mic)?
A: The Zoom H6 in the stereo XY configuration will work for interviews. It will sound a bit roomy but it will work. I think you will have a better quality recording with 2 lav's one per person and take advantage of the XLR inputs and phantom power.
Q: 7. Can you solo all four mic pres during recording and playback?
A: Yes you can solo both during recording and playback very easily by pressing on/off the buttons for each channel. It's one of the best features of the H6
Q: 8. Do the XLR inputs on the H6 lock the mic cord into place or, like on the H4, are they susceptible to falling out?
A: They don’t lock. It’s fine if you are stationary. I wouldn’t try and run around with this setup in a “mobile” environment.
Q: 9. Any recommendations for affordable lav mics to use with this recorder for podcasting? I have some inexpensive lavs that work OK with my current recorder, but they use button batteries. I tried my more expensive Sennheiser lav and got no signal at all. I would prefer lavs that didn't require batteries.
A: Jason, are you looking for a wired or wireless Lav? I personally always try and use a wired Lav wherever possible ... high fidelity, clear quality audio is critical to most forms of broadcast digital media. If you're happy to go with a wired Lav I'd highly recommend the Shure MX150 Subminiature Lavalier Microphone (Wired XLR) .... you tuck into the collar/chest area of the talent, run the thin Shure cable out of the shirt and then attach a pro studio XLR cable and run it into the Zoom H6 XLR inputs ... really delivers stunning audio quality and works every time without having to worry about RF interference and batteries dying.I have a couple of them and can either record them as separate mono tracks in the H6 or mix them as a stereo pair.I purchased both my H6 and the two Shure MX 150s from B&H and have been totally satisfied with the set-up ... you pay a bit more for a pro Lav but the peace of mind and audio quality is well worth it ... and besides which B&H prices are always very competitive and if you have any issues, B&H service is second to none!Cheers,Neil
Q: 10. Can I run Audio Out from the H6 into the XLR inputs of the Canon C100 Mark 2? From the specs listed for the H6 it looks like it only has a line out. Any way to do this? Thanks,Sandeep.
A: This is a recorder and not a mixer. So it only offers outputs for LINE and HEADPHONE.Use a Shure A15AS - In-Line Pad with 15, 20 or 25 db of Selectable Mic Attenuation - XLR Barrel B&H # SHA15AS to attenuate the LINE signal and connect to the recorder with this adapter: ---------------------------------------------Remote Audio Unbalanced Adapter Cable 3-Pin XLR Female to 3.5mm RA TS Mini-Jack (18 ) B&H # RECAX3F18M
