The black Countryman E6X Directional Earset Mic, Medium Gain with Detachable 2mm Cable and 2.5mm waterproof locking Connector for Lectrosonics Wireless Transmitters is a versatile blend of the E6 and the E6i earset that features a springy, thin earpiece and a flexible boom and is suitable for use when a few people will be using the same mic.

The E6X earset can be used on either ear for capturing audio and rejecting unwanted sound, feedback, or surrounding noise from stage monitors or nearby speakers in houses of worship, theater, and outdoor vocal and speech applications.

The low-profile, directional E6X earset virtually disappears against the skin, so performers will forget they're wearing a mic. This version offers medium gain for very loud speaking, such as in theater performances and most vocals. Additionally, the earset comes with two pattern-changeable protective caps for maximum isolation and gain before feedback. This directional E6X earset's cable terminates to a 2.5mm waterproof locking connector for direct connection to Lectrosonics WM wireless bodypack transmitters.

The Countryman earsets are very small, lightweight, and the least visible headworn microphones.

The E6 Flex or E6X offers a versatile blend of the E6 and the E6i. With a springy, thin earpiece and a flexible boom, the E6 Flex is secure on the ear and fast to fit without compromising true invisibility and sound.

The E6X's stainless steel boom is tough and can be bent and re-bent to fit different performers. It is highly resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. The earset should always have a protective cap in place to keep sweat, makeup, and other foreign material out of the microphone.

The E6X earset's flexible boom is easily shaped right on the performer's face. Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. The directional earset protective caps adjust the pattern from cardioid to hypercardioid.

Easy adjustment keeps the mic in a comfortable position for rejecting unwanted sounds. The directional E6X earset provides more isolation and is suitable for situations where there are loud monitors, extreme feedback, or environmental noise.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual earset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate most wireless transmitters.

Q: 1. Any recommendations for affordable lav mics to use with this recorder for podcasting? I have some inexpensive lavs that work OK with my current recorder, but they use button batteries. I tried my more expensive Sennheiser lav and got no signal at all. I would prefer lavs that didn't require batteries.

A: Jason, are you looking for a wired or wireless Lav? I personally always try and use a wired Lav wherever possible ... high fidelity, clear quality audio is critical to most forms of broadcast digital media. If you're happy to go with a wired Lav I'd highly recommend the Shure MX150 Subminiature Lavalier Microphone (Wired XLR) .... you tuck into the collar/chest area of the talent, run the thin Shure cable out of the shirt and then attach a pro studio XLR cable and run it into the Zoom H6 XLR inputs ... really delivers stunning audio quality and works every time without having to worry about RF interference and batteries dying.I have a couple of them and can either record them as separate mono tracks in the H6 or mix them as a stereo pair.I purchased both my H6 and the two Shure MX 150s from B&H and have been totally satisfied with the set-up ... you pay a bit more for a pro Lav but the peace of mind and audio quality is well worth it ... and besides which B&H prices are always very competitive and if you have any issues, B&H service is second to none!Cheers,Neil

Q: 2. How much GB Storage is recommend for recording audio 64gb or 128 gb ?

A: The memory card capacity you choose should be based on what you intend to record using the Zoom H6 6-Input / 6-Track Portable Handy Recorder, as well as the amount of time, the number of tracks, and the file format that you are going to be using. You can use either a 64 or 128GB SDXC like the SanDisk 64GB Extreme PRO UHS-I SDXC Memory Card (B&H # SAEPSD64GBG) or the SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO UHS-I SDXC Memory Card (B&H # SAEPSD128GB). With a 64GB card using WAV format, you can record 64 hours on 2 tracks or 21 hours on 6 tracks. With a 128GB card using WAV format, you can record 128 hours on 2 tracks or 42 hours on 6 tracks. MP3 format will give you much more recording time than WAV format, but the trade-off is that MP3 format is a lower quality recording than WAV format. There are a lot of options to choose from and you can do some test recordings to determine which file format and how many tracks will be best for any specific recording application.

Q: 3. Can you record a mix down of 4 mics rather than or in addition to individual channels?

A: From my experience with the H6, and after looking through the manual, I don't believe you can record a mix-down at the same time as recording the individual multi-track inputs. Nor can you record that mix instead of recording the individual tracks. Once the multitrack recordings are completed, you can set up the mixer and record a stereo mix-down file using the playback of the individual tracks. If you already have a separate stereo recorder, during recording you could use the mixer of the H6 and take signals out the TRS mini Line Output jack on the H6 into the line inputs of your other recorder to capture a mono or stereo mix during the live session.

Q: 4. Does this come with a Lavalier mic? If not, then which Lav mic is recommended for use with the Zoom H6?

A: The H6 does not come with a Lavalier mic. I went with the Sennheiser EW 112P G3-A omni-directional EW system. I've used since October 2018 and so far it's paired perfectly with the H6.

Q: 5. what year is this recorder model, 2019 or 2020?

A: We receive new inventory for the H6 frequently from Zoom so our stock is from the current year (2020).

Q: 6. Can I use the power supply provided with the Zoom h4n for the h6?

A: A correction to Brandons previous answer: The H6 takes mini USB, not micro USB.

Q: 7. What would be a good fit insert dividers for this?

A: Peak Design Travel Camera Cube (Large) BH #PEBCCLBK1 will work as an insert.

Q: 8. Do the XLR inputs on the H6 lock the mic cord into place or, like on the H4, are they susceptible to falling out?

A: They don’t lock. It’s fine if you are stationary. I wouldn’t try and run around with this setup in a “mobile” environment.

Q: 9. What is the range of voice pickup? Does it have external ports that you can plug in speakers for playback?

A: Yes it does have one port for audio which is the same you use for your headphone , range wise Im not sure but what I can say is that the sound is very good on the recordings both live and studio recordings

Q: 10. Does the H6 have output capabilities if you wanted to use as a remote unit for an on-site broadcast? (Or is it strictly a recording device?)

A: It is primarily a recording device. It does have 1 unbalanced 3.5mm line output.
