I have experimented with various remotes and this is the first one that surpassed my expectations. Because of attenae on remote, if you are shooting self-portraits or need to step away from scene, you do not have to directly point remote at camera. This has been a life saver for me. I have been working on some Cindy Sherman style photos for a project and the past three remotes I used were very frustrating. Extremely happy with the FreeWave Wireless Remote and highly recommend it. I use a Canon 5D Mark ii FYI.

I am pleased with this product. I use it as a shutter release for my Nikon D700(must order additional cable for D700 sold by BH)D7100, and D7000, it works flawlessly. It is very well built and extremely easy to operate. Priced right --

This is a reasonably priced, reliable and essential piece of equipment no photographer should be without. Many times I use my Nikon tethered to a laptop/tablet, the FreeWave allows me the freedom of movement and get the shot. For portraits, I can be closer to my subject to elicit the right kind of expression. The receiver has a shoe mount, but I prefer to Velcro it to the side of my bracket/tripod and leave the shoe free for flash. I like the fact I can shoot instantly or with a 2 second delay and mirror up for long exposures. The transmitter has been very reliable and I have not had to raise the antenna yet. Yes the plastic feels thin, but I'm careful with my equipment, and I still have gear over 30 years old looking and working pretty good. If you tend to be rougher, the price is right to get a spare or two as back ups.

This FreeWave Wireless Remote works great. I got it for doing some experimenting with Bulb photos and others too. But it does exactly what it was made for. It took a little while to configure the wireless remote but just removing the battery in the receiver helped to reset it and once I did that couple times, it worked fine.

Much easier than using a flash wireless to trigger my camera. I have struggled for years with other more expense systems but this one is easier to use and less stressful. I haven't tried the unit at any great distances yet. It works fine for what I am using it for and I have used it indoors and outside without any problems.

Works great so far. I use it with my Canon 5dmkiii and it works well both inside and out. The most distance from the camera I've used it is about 25 feet with no problems.

At first had problems it would not trip the shutter. Little feature that Cannon nor FreeWave explained is the cammera has to be on AI Foucs or AI servo for the remote function to work. Onced I fighred that out the remote worked great regardless if I was in fromt or behind or off to the side, just did not matter.

I've never used a Remote Shutter Release prior to purchasing this product and so far it seems that I got it right the first time. FreeWave Wireless Remote Shutter is awesome! Don't know what else to say. I didn't wanted to spend more than $ but reviews seemed to be better with this product and I went with it.Product is very small and compact. You don't have to point the controller directly to the camera, I tried it from another room and it still worked. It doesn't has to be attached to the camera shoe - while using an attached flash, you can have it dangle and it still works. My camera is Canon T3 and it works. Hold the button half way and it focuses to perfection. This is great for portraits. You don't need to set up timer and see if you would be in focus. This takes care all that. No regrets what-so-ever! It's worth every penny.

I set up the camera on a tripod and shoot birds over a feeder. It lets me get away so the birds are so shy.
