This FotodioX DLX Lens Mount Adapter allows a Nikon F-mount, G-type lens lens to be used on a Sony-E mount camera. It is designed to support focusing to infinity and utilizes a brass lens mounting ring to provide a durable, yet lightweight camera-to-lens connection.

To control the amount of light that enters the camera when combined with a Nikon F-mount, G-type lens, an aperture-control ring is built into this DLX Lens Mount Adapter. The control ring couples with the lens's aperture mechanism so that adjustments to brightness as well as depth-of-field can be made. It features clickless stop adjustments that help prevent unwanted noise from being recorded while capturing video with sound.

To help prevent stress on the camera mount if the supported camera and lens combination is to be placed on a tripod, this Pro Lens Mount Adapter includes a detachable, Arca-type tripod foot with a 1/4"-20 accessory thread.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the adapter support EXIF data recording?

A: Unfortunately not. It's a simple adaptor for Sony - Nikkor mounts. If you want electronic autofocus and aperture control, you should consider the Vello or Metabones adaptors.

Q: 2. Can I use to adapt a Sigma Art 24-35mm f2 (Nikon F) to A7II and A7rII?

A: Yes. You definitely can use the sigma lens with your Sony E mount. Just be aware that you will have to manually focus the lens. Which is very easy with focus peaking on. For best results set the camera to A for aperture mode. The Sony will do a great job on the exposure.

Q: 3. Is the tripod foot removable?

A: Yes. There are two small screws deeply recessed into the tripod foot. You'll need a set of computer screwdrivers to remove.

Q: 4. Does it matter where the adapter's iris is set when using a lens that already had a manual iris ring?

A: Yes the Iris ring on the adapter needs to be in the proper spot to in-gauge the Iris arm on the lens. This adapter does not have an iris itself but uses the lens iris instead. Nice adapter, if I had one complaint it would be that the adapter ring you use to adjust the lens iris takes a little getting use to as it is a bit thin but does have knurled spots to place your fingers.

Q: 5. Would I be able to use this on a Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 which is a non manual lens, how would I control the aperture if there is no electronic communication. Also if I am able too control the aperture can I use it at its highest value of f2.8 ?

A: You would need to set the desired aperture on the camera prior to mounting the lens, however it is possible to use the 11-16 with this adapter. An f/2.8 aperture is possible, yes.

Q: 6. Hello! My question is if this adapter allows me to use DX lenses (35 1.8)

A: yes.

Q: 7. Will this adapter work for video at 4K on the a7rii? Or any type of video for that matter. My vello adapter does not allow video function at all.

A: Hi, I used mine to adapt Nikon lens to my XT-2, for stills only. It compensates for the distance lens to sensor only. well built, manual focus, no electronics.

Q: 8. Is the Arca Style foot removable? I may be missing something, but I can't seem to determine it from the info provided. Thank you.

A: The foot is not removable I'm afraid. It is a built-in Arca-type compatible tripod foot.

Q: 9. Can this adapter be used with Nikon D-Type lenses?

A: Yes, the FotodioX Nikon F G-Type Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera DLX Series Adapter can be used with Nikon D lenses. The D lenses have manual "f "stop capability, so one would not have to simulate f stops, with the aperture control ring.

Q: 10. What is the function of the orange ring? I get that the red one adjusts aperture. Is that to change aperture clicked/de-clicked?

A: The orange ring is to add leverage to screw the mount onto the lens and camera body.
