Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. If I own a Tamron lens with a 67mm diameter and a B+W 82mm variable ND Filter (w/ correct step up ring 67to82), will I be able to use my variable ND filter at the same time with this matte box?

A: No, the filter you have will not work with this Tilta matte box. If you need an ND filter, look into the rectangular (4x5.65) size filters.

Q: 2. ¿will this matte box fit a sigma 85mm F/1.4?

A: It depends on which Sigma 85 f/1.4 you own. The new DG DN version for Sony E/Leica L would work, while the Canon EF/Nikon F/Sigma SA versions are too large to natively fit this matte box. You could use an step-down ring, but there might be some vignetting present, although the chance of it is pretty low since the 85mm has such a narrow field-of-view.

Q: 3. Will this support 4x5.65 filters?

A: Yes, it will work perfect for 4x5.65 filters

Q: 4. Would this matte box fit on the Sigma T1.5 FF High-speed prime cine lenses?

A: Most of the lenses in that series will work. However, there are a few wide angle lenses that have an outer diameter larger than 95mm. If the outer diameter is larger than 95mm, it will not be compatible with the Tiltaing Mini Matte Box.

Q: 5. What size slip on lens cap will fit with the tilta rings?

A: Question is not entirely clear, but it would depend on the lens being used.

Q: 6. Can i use a 82mm fixed nd filter on the top of my 82mm lens in this matte box?

A: That may be possible with a regular ND filter if it is not too thick.

Q: 7. How many 4 x 5.65 filter will it hold, is there a way to expand the number of filters it will hold?

A: This is a single stage system that supports one 4 x 5.65" filter. It is not expandable to support a 2nd filter.

Q: 8. Would there be a problem using this Matte Box on the Sony fe16-35mm zoom lens? There is a small inner barrel extention at the 16mm end of the zoom range... would the weight of the Matte Box potetially cause damage to the zoom barrel? Thanks

A: There should be no issues using this with either the Sony 16-35mm F/2.8 or F/4. The F/2.8 has an 82mm filter thread and the F4 has a 72mm thread, which are both adapters that come in the box with this product.

Q: 9. can i remove the top flag ?

A: Yes, you could remove it easily by releasing the toggle in the top

Q: 10. Can this be set up on a Sony 28-135mm kit lens (95mm filter ring)?

A: You cannot. This will not accommodate a lens that large.

Replaced the screw in quick release on my LH-55 ballhead which kept getting stuck. Can now lock my rifle in and release it halfway to reposition easily

With the clamp opened wide you set your foot and close it. That simple. If you want to move your foot you simply loosen the lever to the first stop and safely slide the foot. As long as you have stop screws on your foot your camera and lens is still held in the clamp.

I love this product. The RRS lever is made very well and grips just so.
It is a pleasure to use items this well made and designed, problem solving at its finest.

B2-LLR-II with a stainless steel lever has a very strong clamping force more than a screw knob clamp can provide. I buy this RRS lever clamp to fit FLM CB-58 FTR and these two products perfectly match each other without any issues! Before I buy this RRS lever clamp I doubt the clamping force provided by such lever structure. However, once I receive and operate this prouduct, I finally understand that the lever release clamp is far safer and stronger than a screw knob clamp. First, the lever clamp has very clear three orientations of the stainless steel lever explicilty performing locking, half-locking, and releasing operations and it is almost impossible for a user to get conifused whether the camera thereon is half-locked or completed released, which is impossible for a screw knob clamp. Almost all of screw knob clamps have no any indication for a user to tell whether the camera is slidable but still locked or is fully released. Second, the stainless steel lever set by RRS provides super strong clamping force. When pivoting the lever from the half locking state to the completely locking state, I have to output a strenuous effort by my hand to make the lever pivot over a threshold point, and that's why this lever can only be made of a stainless steel instead of aluminum. I know some simliar lever clamps have the lever made of aluminum, but I would rather use RRS's stainless steel lever because it guarantees the ultra clamping force can be outputted stably by the stainless steel lever without chances of damaging the lever. On the contrary, although a well built conventional screw knob clamp can also output an excellent force based on its reliable structrue, a user's fingers probably can barely output a desirable screwing force to the screw knob. Therefore, regarding clamping operation by the samer user, the finally clamping force performed by the screw knob should be less than that by the lever clamp.

Exact same function as clamp on my RRS BH-30 ball head. Mounting this on my Gitzo ball head worked perfectly and saved me buying a RRS BH-55, not that I would mind having one.
