Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What size are the screws that hold the micro-HDMI cable in?

A: The retaining thumb knobs found on the HDMI bracket are M4x0.7 threaded. The actual bracket is secured to the cage via 1/4-20 shouldered screws included with the bracket.

Q: 2. Will this work with the Tilta FF-T03 follow focus out of the box?

A: Not sure.

Q: 3. Will this cage fit on Ronin M ?

A: Normally we do not see anyone flying a camera in a cage on stabilizers such as this. We feel that as an operator you will want to avoid using the cage because it will: 1. Make the rig as light as possible, 2. make balancing simpler, 3. not work the motors any more than necessary.

Q: 4. Is this compatible with the fx3 tilta cage?

A: No, the Tilta Bottom Plate for Sony a7S III Cages (Black) will not work with Tilta FX3 cages.

Q: 5. Assuming you retain the rod block, what's the best way to add a baseplate to this to allow quick attachment to a tripod head?

A: Theres an assortment of threaded holes on the underside of the block riser for your tripod baseplate. Solid product. Worth it.

Q: 6. Will this cage fit on Ronin M ?

A: It may work, if you removed both the 15mm baseplate and the top handle. We do not recommend using the Ronin-M with a camera in a cage like this. The Ronin-M will balance better with an A7 camera that just has a lens on it.

Q: 7. Can this product be used with the sony 1?

A: This is not designed for use with the A1, although it may possibly work with it.

Q: 8. I am assuming this would fit the a7iii, am I right?

A: No but you can use this instead: https://bhpho.to/3f8Lsuo

Q: 9. Will this fit on the new Sony A7R iii?

A: Four sided cages are form-fitted to each and every camera body. Therefore there is a time lag from when the ne camera is announced to when form-fitting cages are available. While there is a possibility that this cage will fit, until CAME-TV tests it or comes out with a a7R III cage we will have to suggest you consider a universal cage such as: Varavon Zeus UNI C-Type Cage B&H # VAAMZEUSUNI, Tilta Cinema Cage for 5D Mark IV, FS5, GH5, DSLR & Blackmagic Design Cinema Camera B&H # TIEST072, Manfrotto Camera Cage (Small) B&H # MAMVCCS.

Q: 10. Will this work with the A7III?

A: It will not as the A7III uses a different battery than the models this works with.

From the newly designed body to the crisp focus menu, this camera is everything I expected. Buttons are larger, which I appreciate having that for confident feel when navigating control.
Picture quality is as expected. I can crop on an action shot and print without worry of any loss of substance.

Truly worth the wait.

I was delighted with II, thrilled with III, and astounded with Mark IV. No complaints of any kind, even with the menu system (which is customizable for special needs). Yes, you need big, fast SD cards and a fast computer to process the large files. A point with respect to specs: the published px count is 9504 x 6336 = 60.2 Mpx, which is what you get when shooting jpg. Shooting ARW (raw) gives you files that are 9600 x 6376 = 61.2 Mpx. The 16-frame pixel-shift feature yields files that are 4 times larger and resolution that is unprecedented in a camera of this size and price.

I gave the A7RIV 5 stars because it is an outstanding camera. Fantastic focusing performance, more resolution than I know what to do with, crystal clear EVF, and much more.

I have mixed opinions because I also own the A7RIII and I'm torn between which one I prefer. I don't have huge hands, so the I'm kind of in the middle between the two grip sizes ... one feels small and the other feels big for that chassis. I don't take many pictures in the rain, so the weather sealing isn't a huge deal. It's nice to have 2 UHSII card slots, but only because of the image size on the A7RIV ... the speed didn't bother me on the A7RIII. The battery is the same on both.

For those coming from an A7RIII, I guess you really have to ask yourself why you want to upgrade. The A7RIV is outstanding, but so is the A7RIII.

If you are coming from another brand, the A7RIV is a beast of a camera. It does almost everything extremely well. I would never tell anyone not to get it ... unless they really couldn't afford it. In that case, I would say get the A7RIII ... and you will be just as happy.

I actually prefer it to my A9 for wildlife photography because the crop mode lets me get closer to my subjects (birds) without loss of quality. It is great for macro photography too.

Much better than the a7riii. EVF is awesome, ergonomics are great and focus tracking adds to the package. Try it, you’ll love it.

This is really a great camera. There are a few quirks that will hopefully be improved when Sony does its expected Firmware upgrade but it works great when you get it going. The quality of the photo's will blow you away. Its important to understand though that the diffraction limit of this camera, due to its 61MP FF sensor means that you really need to shoot quality glass that is F5.6 or better for Color, and about F8 for B&W. Of course you can use F8+ lenses, but due to the physics of light, you will not be able to really take advantage of the extremely high density of the sensor. If you do, your photo's will still look great, but the higher you go in your Fstop the more it will look equivalent to cameras with lower Mega Pixels.

I had a decision to make on whether to replace my older A7RIII with another A7RIII or go with the newer RIV. I decided to go with the RIV and glad I did. The handling is great and I also got the battery grip to make it even more so. I do mainly wildlife photography and my long lenses handle really nice on the camera. The AF is fast ,accurate and photos are sharp. I highly recommend this camera.
