Q: 1. With the help of PlayMemories Home it is possible to import still images and movies to your computer directly from the camera and use them in different ways. You must install PlayMemories Home to be able to import XAVC S movies and AVCHD movies to your computer or?

A: Well PlayMemories Home is discontinued. They've revamped that software and rebranded it as Imaging Edge Desktop / Mobile. You don't need Imaging edge to transfer stills/video directly from the camera if you're using the USB cable. XAVC S is an MP4 so it should playback fine on windows or mac. AVCHD you might have more trouble with if you're using Mac. It's also inferior in quality so I honestly wouldn't use all together. Hopefully this helps!
