Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this gimbal compatible with the Nikon Z9?

A: The Fotopro E-9H can hold the Nikon Z9 with the appropriate telephoto lens that has a tripod collar.

Q: 2. Does the gimbal head, collapsable? or stay in that L shape 90 degree way, kind of hard to bag for travel?

A: In the Fotopro E7 Carbon Fiber Tripod with Gimbal Head you can remove the cradle that holds the camera from the gimbal. Will make it easier to pack it in a bag.

Q: 3. Looks like 7 adjustment knobs - are these all necessary? What do they adjust and do they get cold or are they rubberized?

A: Yes, there are a lot of knobs and they all have a purpose. The top big knob locks the heads tilt. The lower big knob locks the main arm in position. Usually the arm is upright, but for storage or travel, you can invert the main arm. On the base, the medium knob is the pan lock. The smallest knob, when engaged, is an ingenious click-stop which will aid greatly when doing panoramas. On the main arm there is a knob to lock in the L bracket. You can remove the L bracket and then directly mount your camera if it has its own L bracket. On the bottom of the Fotopro L bracket is a knob for locking the Arca Swiss plate. Finally, on the L bracket is a knob that attaches the pan handle. As a former movie camera operator, the pan handle is what you need for "BIF" or following a "Bird In Flight." The knobs are metal and because when it is cold you are likely wearing gloves, their being metal should not be an issue. If you like a high degree of control I would say this head is for you.

Q: 4. Do I need accessories to be able to level the gimbal head?

A: The gimbal head has a level so that you can level your tripod using the bubble on the gimbal but a leveling base would be ideal to use in conjunction with this head. You can click on the link below to view; https://bhpho.to/2QEeZ43

Q: 5. Has anyone used this in cold climates? How smooth?

A: This head is smooth in colder climates.

Q: 6. Does this come with L bracket, clamp and plate seen in the images.

A: Yes, it comes with everything that is pictured.

Q: 7. What is the base diameter?

A: The base diameter on the E-9H would be about 3".

Q: 8. Is there a taller version? I'm 6 ft. tall and the max height on this is only 5'3".

A: If you are looking for an option from Fotopro and you are looking for an option with a gimbal head, then no, they do not have a taller option. If the gimbal head is not a requirement, the Fotopro T-Roc MAX Professional Tripod, B&H # FOTROCMAX, has a maximum height of 67.3 inches, and would be the tallest option offered by Fotopro in our inventory.

Q: 9. Do those unique safety buttons that can ensure that your lens will not slide off work with my arca-compatible Promedia gear camera L-bracket? My friend told me his top clamp does not work properly, however the built-in clamp on the fotopro l-bracket works fine. In other words the button functions as designed on their supplied L-bracket clamp but not the top clamp. Can someone confirm that for me?

A: The Fotopro E-9H Gimbal Head (Black) is like most Gimbal heads is made for a long lens that has a tripod collar and is not made to attach the camera direct to it use any plate including a L plate.

Q: 10. how much does this gimbal weigh?

A: The Fotopro E-6H Eagle Series Gimbal Head weights 2 lb / 907 g.
