Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What's the difference between the one, two, and three? They seem like pretty much the same to me.

A: Each series of the Benro Rhino Travel Tripod has a different load capacity, weight, and height: the higher the series number, the greater the capacity, weight, and height.

Q: 2. Could you recommend a compatible mid-level spreader for this system (From Secced but also from other brands)?

A: BH #SE3034 is a great choice for a Mid Level Spreader for this tripod. https://bhpho.to/2Sd3PnU

Q: 3. What does this have over the 5000 model to warrant the increased cost?

A: The big difference is the VT-5000 offers Variable Fluid Tilt & Fixed Pan Drag along with a Fixed Counterbalance. The VT-6000 has Stepped Fluid Tilt & Pan Drag along with Stepped Counterbalance. The VT-6000 is more adjustable and customizable to your specific needs, it is a more advanced model.

Q: 4. can you get a replacement knob for the center level? The knob is a bit short and difficult to reach. A longer knob would work better. Can I replace the one that is there and if so do you have a suggestion?

A: For individual parts (not accessories), you will need to contact the manufacturer: https://www.magnustripods.com/contact-us

Q: 5. What specifically is the difference between the "fixed" model and the "stepped" model? What does "stepped" allow you to do, for the price to be double?

A: "Stepped" means that you can control how easy/difficult it is to pan or tilt the tripod head. It means you can increase the drag when you want slow controlled movement or decrease it when you want to do whip pans. On the "fixed" model it is 1 size fits all there is no control of the resistance when panning or tilting.

Q: 6. Would the rhino two or three be better fitted for a Canon 7D Mark II with a Canon 100-400mm II and 1.4x II?

A: Both the Benro Rhino Carbon Fiber Two Series Travel Tripod with VX25 Head and the Benro Rhino Carbon Fiber Three Series Travel Tripod with VX30 Head hold more than enough support weight. So either one is good for use with the 7D II and 100-400mm II lens. Note you should get one of these for the lens, https://bhpho.to/3ag6F7d .

Q: 7. What’s the difference between stepped and fixed ?

A: The fixed configuration means pan and tilt drag is at a fixed resistance amount, whereas a stepped configuration means the pan and tilt drag is adjustable at different resistance increments.

Q: 8. Is this available with a mid level spreader? Or is one available aftermarket?

A: We do not have this tripod available with a mid level spreader. However, BH #SE3034 is the Mid Level Spreader for this tripod. https://bhpho.to/2YokqJr

Q: 9. whats the diference midle spread o floor spread?

A: The spreader that you use with the Libec LX7 Tripod With Pan and Tilt Fluid Head and Floor Spreader is a personal preference. However, to provide more detail, ground spreaders are very stable and can go very low, making it easier to get to the desired height quickly, but they do get dirty. Also, ground spreaders will be more difficult to set up on uneven ground. Mid-level spreaders are good for uneven ground. While they are cleaner, mid-level spreaders are less stable and they require more adjustment when selecting the height and leveling your tripod legs.

Q: 10. I cannot find the hex wrench that came with it. None of the ones I have fit. Do you have the exact size of the one I should buy?

A: The hex wrench size for the Magnus REX VT-5000 2-Stage Video Tripod locks would be 2.7mm.
