The tan B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone, Low Sensitivity, with Hardwired 3-Pin XLR Connector for Lectrosonics Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a very small lav microphone measuring one tenth of an inch in diameter. It can be used to capture audio for theater, broadcast, house of worship, and general lavalier applications.

This version is ideal for use as a head mic in theater. Built with a low handling noise and rugged construction, the B6 lavalier microphone can be easily hidden in a performer's hair or on costumes, ties, or behind a shirt button. It can also be attached to eyeglasses, for a secure, discreet, and convenient alternative to hair miking. The ultrathin diaphragm deliver a natural sound while its tiny size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection. The B6's aramid-reinforced cable terminates to a 3-Pin XLR connector for direct connection to Lectrosonics UH200d, UH400, and UH400a wireless bodypack transmitters.

Additionally, the included swappable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with a protective cap, which can be quickly removed for cleaning or replacement.

Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B6 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.

The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.

The B6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat-frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.

Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.

Low, head miking for theater.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work to send the XLR audio to an external recorder like the atmos ninja or similar?

A: No, it only support balanced audio in to the GH5. Or line level. HDMI out from the camera sends embedded audio to a recorder.

Q: 2. Does this unit use the camera's internal pre-amp or does it have its own preamp?

A: The Panasonic DMW-XLR1 XLR Microphone Adapter has its own pre-amp.

Q: 3. Does it use the Battery from the camera or does it house Batteries inside the unit?

A: It is powered directly from the camera. It does not require batteries.

Q: 4. Does Zoom make this in 32bit float wide dynamic range for Panasonic Lumix? (like an F3, but sync'd with no cables).

A: No, Zoom does not offer any XLR adapters for cameras and there are no XLR adapters that we are aware of that have the ability to record audio directly, the XLR adapters are simply used to provide an XLR connection for a camera that does not have XLR inputs. The resolution for recording audio is determined by the capabilities of the camera or a recorder. A recorder like the Zoom F3 Portable Field Recorder does have the ability to record audio at 32-bit, but it does not have the ability to connect to the camera without using cables and the audio recorded by the camera would be limited to the capabilities of the camera. So the F3 would be able to record 32-bit float but it would be recorded to an SD card. Unless the camera is capable of recording 32-bit float audio, the audio from the recorder would not be transferred at the same resolution to the camera, even if it were connected using a cable or cable-free connection. However, you can utilize the timecode functions on the F3 and a compatible camera to accurately sync audio and video in post production using timecode.

Q: 5. Will this be comparable with the new Tilta pro cage for the GH6?

A: Yes, the Panasonic DMW-XLR1 XLR Microphone Adapter can be used with the Tilta Full Camera Cage Kit for Panasonic GH6 (Pro Kit, Black), as one does not use the Tilta Top Handle.

Q: 6. Can this be charged with a solar panel? (Most are about 18V-20V.) Which input would I use?

A: You can either use teh USB-C connection to send power to the device. Or you can connect to the 5.5 x 2.1mm Barrel Port to power it up.

Q: 7. What's the dynamic range?

A: The GH5, B&H # PADCGH5, which is the camera this item works with offers 10 stops of Dynamic Range. You can expand that to 12 stops with the V-Log Activation, B&H # PADMWSFU1VLO.

Q: 8. Is this compatible with the new S5ii and S5iix? Or is there a new model?

A: Panasonic DMW-XLR1 XLR Microphone Adapter BH #PADMWXLR1 is not compatible with S5II or S5IIx and it's compatible with LUMIX GH5, GH5s, S1, S1R.

Q: 9. Are there any sort of adapter cables available that offset this unit as it interferes with the cage handle?

A: The DMW-XLR1 XLR must be in the hot shoe of the GH5 in order to function. There is no way currently to allow it to be mounted elsewhere. All is not lost for you can consider an XLR Audio Adapter such as the Beachtek DXA-SLR Pure Passive Audio Adapter for DSLR Cameras B&H # BEDXASLRPURE. This can be mounted independently of the camera on the cage. Then you run a cable from it to the camera. Or you can consider a independent recorder that will give you the best possible sound. (The audio from it can also be recorded in the camera as well.) Here is one possibility. Tascam DR-60DmkII 4-Channel Portable Recorder for DSLR B&H # TADR60DMKII. Q: 10. Can the Omnicharge Omni 20+ Portable Charger power my Celestron 8" telescope?

A: As long as the power draw does not exceed 100W, Yes. If you are unsure of the power draw of your telescope, please email sportoptics@bhphotovideo.com so we can discuss further.

I use this diffuser for portraits. It works well and is lightweight. Sometimes hard to get off the 580EXII flash.

Just simple and easy. i,ve read complaints about poor fit but i dismiss this.it does fit well, has top& bottom and fits snugly if used correctly.a slight wedge shape if you would.works as advertised.

It's a great to have in your camera bag. It does it's job by softening the light. Not too expensive so its great to have. The fit is quite snug on the 580ex II so its hard to put on and take off.
