The cocoa B2D Directional Lavalier Mic, Low Gain, with Hardwired TA3F Connector Cable for AKG Wireless Transmitters from Countryman features a lightweight 0.18-ounce body that was designed to be discreetly mounted and can be used for miking news anchors, actors in a film or theater setting, lecturers in a school or house of worship type environment.

The B2D's tight hypercardioid pattern gives the mic an extra 6-10 dB of headroom compared to an omnidirectional lavalier mic, which means less problems with feedback, ambient noise, room rumble, and phase cancellations when using multiple microphones.

This version offers the lowest gain for powerful vocals such as in opera, which requires a higher overload level. In addition, the B2D lavalier is equipped with a hardwired cable that terminates to a TA3F connector for direct connection to AKG DPT800, DPT700, PT2000, PT40, PT400, PT4000, PT45, PT450, PT4500, PT470, PT60, PT61, PT80, and PT81 wireless bodypack transmitters.

With its small size and sensitivity options, the B2D can easily hide behind a shirt button. This makes it invisible for film work, theater, live shows, or any other application.

Natural vocal reproduction and a tight polar pattern make the B2D ideal for broadcast and is a dependable workhorse you can count on to perform night after night.

The isolation clips minimize clothing and vibration noise while allowing 360° of rotation for easy positioning of the microphone.

This microphone is tuned to a frequency response that is natural and intelligible at a wide range of distances from the mouth. It delivers wonderful sound quality on the chest (8-10" from the mouth) or towards the collar (3-4").

Low (blue band, -20 dB re W4) for operatic vocals

As far as they fall incredibly short is leakage statement that someone wrote about while doing voice overs, do what pro studios do, tape over the holes on the back of the drivers with gaffers tape, not duct tape or you'll have a sticky mess. also turn down the bass a little for your can mix. I've had 6 of these for over 10 yrs!

Great set of headphones for the price. Crisp, clear and the most natural sounding reproduced audio. Comfortable to wear for a long period of time and seal well around my ears. Really happy with my purchase. These have been a studio work horse for years and they are still the best bet for the price IMO.

In the 80's when these first came out I was in my studio with a sales rep and he handed me a pair. I listened to my Urei 911 monitors, then these, handed them back and said I need a pair of these! This purchase (on sale) is replacing those 30 year onld cans and they sound marvelous. Flat and responsive, best on the market.

I bought this headphone from B&H at a discount price and was amazed at its sound quality. Even its standart price is a bargain for this sound quality. It is one of the best headphones I have used. The sound quality is precise and very satifying. Wearing it for hours (which I need to do during my recording sessions in the studio) is not tiring. Its physical presence (on my ear) and audio doesn't disturb me (like some lower quality headphones). Sound insulation is just right for my needs. Excellent frequency responce, definitely fun to work with. A must for any serious audio fan/pro. I will be purchasing a second one for my studio.

i bought this headphone when it was on dealzone for half the original price. I have been using it for the past 3 weeks. The sound quality is amazing. Semi-open design makes it perfect for mixing, as it's not too tight and uncomfortable on your ears. Of course, semi-open models can't be used in the vocal booth, as the mic could pick up some audio from the headphone as well. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the headphone!

These are the best headphones for super flat audio. Someone posted a review commenting on the leakage. There will be leakage, a lot actually. These are semi-open headphones and are designed that way on purpose. If your looking for isolation when listening then you need to get closed headphones. These are meant for listening in very quiet conditions, and when it is, they are great!

These headphones, for the money you spend, are a very good investment for any audiophile. I use them for listening to both digital and analog (tape and LP's) music as well as watching Television late at night. For music, being an open back design, they really shine. The open back allows one to really open them up and when you do they are just a real treat to listen to. For studio recording I would say go with a closed back style to prevent sound bleed. But for playback at the console they are an excellent choice. I have pushed these up to about 55 watts rms and the open back prevents the damage to your ears that a closed back would do. I would recommend them to anyone that's on a budget because in my opinion there's nothing on the market that will rival them. They are comfortable, require a short break in period and the sound reproduction is excellent plus there's no thump, thump, thump of an over compensative xtra Bass feature. I play these flat. I am a studio engineer and know that before a recording is released the mix has gone through alot and is as good as the engineers and producer wanted so I feel that xtra bass is just a way to mess up a good mix.

Love these headphones. I've owned lots of headphones, but these have been my go to headphones for monitoring for the last 20 years. I've owned 6 pairs of them. Transparent, open sound. Not hyped.
