A: Round. It locks in with a large bolt. Easily tightened by hand. I usually disconnect the wheel base for transportation and reconnect it at the gig. Travels easier that way in my SUV. Well built for medium size mixers. Small mixers probably wouldn't fit well and heavy mixers would need to be balanced before I would trust this unit. Perfect for me and my M20d stagescape.

A: Hi, Frank, I have 3 light stands in there with 4 collapsible modifiers - it all fits and probably has room for more if I packed tighter. The side pockets also are roomy and I've not fully filled them.

I only own one c-stand, but I managed to fit it, three other light stands of various sizes, a tripod and a couple of modifiers, plus rolls of tape and various other things nestled within the gaps too. All that said, it was pretty heavy after all that, so I was glad for the wheels and the fact I didn't have to maneuver it too far.
