The black Countryman E6X Omnidirectional Earset Mic, Standard Gain with Detachable 2mm Cable and 3.5mm locking Connector for Olympus, Roland, Sony, Tascam, Yamaha, or Zoom Portable Recorders is a versatile blend of the E6 and the E6i earset that features a springy, thin earpiece and a flexible boom and is suitable for use when a few people will be using the same mic.

The E6X earset can be used on either ear for capturing audio and rejecting unwanted sound, feedback, or surrounding noise from stage monitors or nearby speakers in houses of worship, theater, and outdoor vocal and speech applications.

The low-profile, omnidirectional E6X earset virtually disappears against the skin, so performers will forget they're wearing a mic. This version offers the highest gain for general speaking such as presentations or sermons. In addition, the earset comes with three protective caps with different high-frequency response characteristics that control the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz). This omnidirectional E6X earset's cable terminates to a 3.5mm locking connector for direct connection to Olympus, Roland, Sony, Tascam, Yamaha, or Zoom DM-420, DM-520, DM-620, DS-2400, DS-40, DS-51, DS-61, DS-71, LS-10, LS-14, R05, R09HR, PCM-D50, PCM-M10, DR-05, DR-07mkII, DR-08, PR-10, Pocketrak C24, Pocketrak W24, H1, H2, and H2n portable recorders.

The Countryman earsets are very small, lightweight, and the least visible headworn microphones.

The E6 Flex or E6X offers a versatile blend of the E6 and the E6i. With a springy, thin earpiece and a flexible boom, the E6 Flex is secure on the ear and fast to fit without compromising true invisibility and sound.

The E6X's stainless steel boom is tough and can be bent and re-bent to fit different performers. It is highly resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. The earset should always have a protective cap in place to keep sweat, makeup, and other foreign material out of the microphone.

The E6X earset's flexible boom is easily shaped right on the performer's face. Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. This omnidirectional version includes three protective caps—+4 dB (bright), +8 dB (very bright) and +0 dB (flat)—that controls the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz.)

Easy adjustment keeps the mic in a comfortable position for rejecting unwanted sounds. The omnidirectional E6X earset provides more isolation and is suitable for situations where there are loud monitors, extreme feedback, or environmental noise.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual earset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate most wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it possible to use the Oddyssey 7q with this unit and is there a scaler available which will convert to 1080p 50 to match the rest of my gear?

A: I have not used Odyssey 7q with the Roland V1-HD, but I think with a good HDMI to SDI converter (Eg. Blackmagic design) it would work with the unit. The Roland V1-HD has 3 resolution, 720p, 1080i and 1080p, with 2 frame rate 50 and 59.99. So you probably don't need another converter to use 1080p50.

Q: 2. If it has built-in limiter, is it applied pre-digital to actually prevent clipping? Does it have "look-ahead" like other models?

A: Yes. Page 55-56 in the manual for the Zoom R20 explains how you can set the limiter to prevent clipping. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/787205.pdf

Q: 3. Two questions about the V1HD switcher...1) When would you ever use the freeze button on this thing? I'm trying to figure out what it does and why it has it's own button? And also, can it be changed to do something else?2) Can the PREVIEW output be changed somehow to just show the Preview clip? In other words, I know it is used to show the multi view, but can that be switched somehow to show something else like the Preview clip (for instance if I wanted to check focus on one particular camera before I cut to it), while the Program/OUTPUT has the main live feed output like normal? Thanks!

A: The freeze button is a common thing found on a production switcher. You may want to freeze on a moment and from there switch to a live feed, even the same camera now rolling live again. It is an effect that you may find useful. The button cannot be programmed to something else I'm afraid. The preview HDMI output can be set to either the Multi-viewer or a 2nd output for the program. It cannot be set as an ISO on a specific camera. The V1HD is designed to be a more basic, yet affordable option. You could look in to a more advanced switcher like the Datavideo SE-2200 that has multiple, assignable outputs. The SE-2200 will allow you to have a preview out.

Q: 4. Are the faders motorized?

A: The Zoom R20 faders are not motorized.

Q: 5. Can you play a track and record on another at the same time?

A: Yes. The Zoom R20 Portable Multitrack Recorder can be used for overdub recording. It is possible to listen back to previously recorded tracks and record new tracks on top of them.

Q: 6. In the pix, it only shows 5 inputs' levels. Can we monitor all 8 inputs' levels simultaneously? It's critical to see all levels

A: Yes. When using the Level Meter View Screen on the Zoom R20 Portable Multitrack Recorder, it is possible to monitor the audio level meters and faders for all 16 tracks.

Q: 7. how to disable the audio from the HDMI cable?

A: Hold down the audio button in the settings area. Look for inputs. Turn down the volume on all inputs one through four to disable audio on HDMI inputs

Q: 8. So I can have two back up tracks. One for each input?

A: When using the backup recording function included on devices such as the H6, a stereo backup file will be created. The left side of the file will be from input 1 of the EXH-6, the right side of the file will be created by input 2. This stereo file can be split into two separate mono files in post.

Q: 9. Is it possible to scale down and re-position a green screen source while using the chroma key effect? I'm wondering if I can use it to record my green screen cam feed over my gaming output. The SDI version seems to be able to zoom the inputs, but need to see if the HDMI version does.

A: Dear Phillip:I haven't unpacked my switcher yet and I am not familier with the product.

Q: 10. can this have two mics connected?

A: You may connect one mic into the 3.5mm input but it will disable the built stereo mics.
