A: Well they're different in many ways. The NTG3 requires Phantom power to work, the noise floor is less and it sounds cleaner. But the NTG4 requires more gain from the preamp so it can get a bit noisier. So, yes the Ntg 3 sounds better, but I would say you have to think what could work better with the gear you already have and the type of work you'll do.
