Use it for wedding photography to give that unique look for certain pics. Decided to purchase this lens rather than the new 8-15 for 2 reasons...f2.8 and price. I am very pleased. AF is a little noisy, but that's expected for a lens that was made back in late 1980's. Perfect for 5d mark ii. On my 1d mark iv, it still has that edgy wide look...but on full-frame, you get those fishy pics.

This is my sharpest prime lens! I am not bothered by the fact that, it has a very pronounced barrel distortion. You could fix it in post-processing though, sometimes I like the distortion, looks more natural than the processed image. This lens produces wonderful,almost L-quality colors. My only complain is the cap, it slips off too easy for the comfort.

I bought this lens right before I went on a trip to Seattle. I had no trouble ordering it from B&H and getting it right on time to have it for my trip. I absolutely love this lens and the ease of ordering it online. It was cheaper than any store or other online store price. The quality with a full-frame camera and the sharpness of the images it produces are unlike any other lens I have had. It really changes the perspective of the image for a different take on the world of photos. I would strongly recommend this lens to anyone who enjoys a somewhat distorted image compared to a normal 50mm lens.

I have used this lens in Sports , Nightscapes , Landscapes and for creative portraits. At first I was biased buying the prime over the 17-40L I wanted the zoom at first,after putting this little guy through it's paces capturing the milkyway at night at f/2.8 and scenic shots are just to fun at 15mm anyway then add f/2.8 for low light I'm glad I got the prime lens . Is it sharp ? Yes , I was amazed I have heard it's hard to focus , Not at all ,a at least for my eyes that is. Auto focus , has worked better than I imagined it would . Currently using it on a 5DmkII, 40D ,and 7D.

The lens was a bit heavier than I expected but seems solidly built. The best thing about this lens is the image quality at such a wide angle. The pictures stay very sharp around the edges. the occasional fisheye look keeps me creative. However, if I just want a wide angle shot I can use photoshop's lens correction to straighten out the image and I get an extremely wide angle shot with great image quality all around the photo. One of the funnest lenses I own.

Currently using the Fisheye on my 7D for video with a glidecam,,, Very nice and wide. Also, use it on my 5dmkii for video to get the full fisheye effect. I've had no problems with it....,,, but so far, it's work prefectly every time. This is a solid Canon lens & it feels well constructed. Bottomline, I would recomend this product.

I use this for wedding photography. It is very useful for me to capture fascinating,different angle photographs. Also it helps me to improve my photography field.

Although the build quality and focus is not on par with the L series lenses (I have 5 L Series lenses) considering the price this lens offers a tremendous value. As a photographer who shoots a tremendous amount of residential interior photos, getting it all in is a consistant struggle when shooting small rooms and bathrooms. Although the fisheye is typically used for stylized photos, my hopes were to convert the perspective to reduce the fisheye effect and end up with a greater coverage area than my 16mm-35mm lens. Fortunately with Lightroom3's lens correction feature, one simple click perfectly corrects the barrel distortion and leaves me with something like a 10-12mm range. Although the corners become exceptionally soft during the conversion process, the ultimate effect is substantially more positive than the drawbacks.
