The tan B2D Directional Lavalier Mic, Low Gain, with Hardwired 3.5mm Locking Connector Cable for Sony Wireless Transmitters from Countryman features a lightweight 0.18-ounce body that was designed to be discreetly mounted and can be used for miking news anchors, actors in a film or theater setting, lecturers in a school or house of worship type environment.

The B2D's tight hypercardioid pattern gives the mic an extra 6-10 dB of headroom compared to an omnidirectional lavalier mic, which means less problems with feedback, ambient noise, room rumble, and phase cancellations when using multiple microphones.

This version offers the lowest gain for powerful vocals such as in opera, which requires a higher overload level. In addition, the B2D lavalier is equipped with a hardwired cable that terminates to a 3.5mm locking connector for direct connection to Sony UTX-B03, UTX-B1, UTX-B2, and WRT-805A wireless bodypack transmitters.

With its small size and sensitivity options, the B2D can easily hide behind a shirt button. This makes it invisible for film work, theater, live shows, or any other application.

Natural vocal reproduction and a tight polar pattern make the B2D ideal for broadcast and is a dependable workhorse you can count on to perform night after night.

The isolation clips minimize clothing and vibration noise while allowing 360° of rotation for easy positioning of the microphone.

This microphone is tuned to a frequency response that is natural and intelligible at a wide range of distances from the mouth. It delivers wonderful sound quality on the chest (8-10" from the mouth) or towards the collar (3-4").

Low (blue band, -20 dB re W4) for operatic vocals

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there any advantage of buying a wired timer remote versus buying a wireless timer remote? Or vice versus? Is one really better than the other?

A: The wired remote always works the same cannot be said for the wireless plus I believe it uses up more battery in your camera. The always works is what I want and having a cable is not a big deal.

Q: 2. Is it compatible with Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 III Digital Camera ?

A: READ INSTRUCTIONS

Q: 3. Would this sync the shutter and flash on a multiple camera setup using a wireless HSS flash system like Godox? I tried using a wireless Godox trigger/receiver but the flash does not sync with the shutter across multiple cameras.

A: I contacted Vello Gear concerning your inquiry. According to Vello Gear, they state if the Vello Wireless ShutterBoss II Receiver is connected to the remote terminal of your camera via a remote shutter release cable, and both the ShutterBoss II receiver and the handheld ShutterBoss II transmitter are set to the same channel, then yes, it may trigger multiple cameras whose receivers are also set to the same channel. However, that being said, the ShutterBoss II transmitter and receiver are not compatible with Vello's Freewave flash transmitters/receivers, nor is it compatible for use with Godox flash transmitters/receivers, and will not wirelessly trigger Godox products or flashes connected to Vello Freewave remotes.

Q: 4. Will vello ShutterBoss II wireless work with Nikon D500

A: I had to connect the release with the cable to my D500 because the battery in the receiver was dead when I went to use it and that worked just fine.

Q: 5. It will work with fuji xt2?

A: No, this is listed as compatible with Canon, Pentax, Samsung and Sigma. The B&H # VERCWIINK would work with Fujifilm and Nikon cameras.

Q: 6. Can the Vello ShutterBoss II also trip the record button/function for making videos? I use a Nikon D750 camera.

A: Yes. The D750 has the ability to assign the shutter button to start/stop video recording. The instructions to do so are found on page 373 of the Nikon D750 user's manual: https://bhpho.to/3gyrFH5 Once the shutter button is the start/stop button for video, this remote, which activates the shutter button, can start and stop the video.

Q: 7. Does this work with the Cannon EOS M50?

A: Sorry I have the 5D mark lll

Q: 8. Will it work with a Canon EOS T1i?

A: The Canon EOS T1i works with the Vello ShutterBoss II Timer Remote Switch for Canon with Sub Mini Connection, BH #VERCC12 specifically. https://bhpho.to/3AOtZlq

Q: 9. I have both Sony A7r and Olympus EM5 II - if I also buy the Vello 2.5mm cable for Olympus B&H # VERCCO325 can I use this remote with either camera?

A: I use the shutter boss for the a7r. My understanding is that the Olympus would use a different cable, but still use the same transmitter and receiver.Ask the B&H people if you can buy a separate cable for the Olympus. This is an easy question for them.Good luck.

Q: 10. How long is the cable?

A: The cable measures 35 inches.

It works fine with my Sony camera as a simple shutter release, better than the more expensive Sony releases. It will wear out eventually. With fairly heavy use, I go through one or two per year. But for $10 I can't complain.
