The light beige Countryman E6X Omnidirectional Earset Mic, Medium Gain with Detachable 1mm Cable and 3.5mm locking Connector for Olympus, Roland, Sony, Tascam, Yamaha, or Zoom Portable Recorders is a versatile blend of the E6 and the E6i earset that features a springy, thin earpiece and a flexible boom and is suitable for use when a few people will be using the same mic.

The E6X earset can be used on either ear for capturing audio and rejecting unwanted sound, feedback, or surrounding noise from stage monitors or nearby speakers in houses of worship, theater, and outdoor vocal and speech applications.

The low-profile, omnidirectional E6X earset virtually disappears against the skin, so performers will forget they're wearing a mic. This version offers medium gain for very loud speaking, such as in theater performances and most vocals. In addition, the earset comes with three protective caps with different high-frequency response characteristics that control the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz). This omnidirectional E6X earset's cable terminates to a 3.5mm locking connector for direct connection to Olympus, Roland, Sony, Tascam, Yamaha, or Zoom DM-420, DM-520, DM-620, DS-2400, DS-40, DS-51, DS-61, DS-71, LS-10, LS-14, R05, R09HR, PCM-D50, PCM-M10, DR-05, DR-07mkII, DR-08, PR-10, Pocketrak C24, Pocketrak W24, H1, H2, and H2n portable recorders.

The Countryman earsets are very small, lightweight, and the least visible headworn microphones.

The E6 Flex or E6X offers a versatile blend of the E6 and the E6i. With a springy, thin earpiece and a flexible boom, the E6 Flex is secure on the ear and fast to fit without compromising true invisibility and sound.

The E6X's stainless steel boom is tough and can be bent and re-bent to fit different performers. It is highly resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. The earset should always have a protective cap in place to keep sweat, makeup, and other foreign material out of the microphone.

The E6X earset's flexible boom is easily shaped right on the performer's face. Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. This omnidirectional version includes three protective caps—+4 dB (bright), +8 dB (very bright) and +0 dB (flat)—that controls the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz.)

Easy adjustment keeps the mic in a comfortable position for rejecting unwanted sounds. The omnidirectional E6X earset provides more isolation and is suitable for situations where there are loud monitors, extreme feedback, or environmental noise.

The included removable, quick-swap cable detaches from the actual earset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate most wireless transmitters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. will it work on TG-5 ?

A: Recently I heard that someone got a TG-5, and said the ring does work. Have to say I was not impressed with the light output, and promply returned it.

Q: 2. I am going to use the TG to copy some slides. Would this help to provide even illumination?

A: No, you need to backlight to copy slides.

Q: 3. If it has built-in limiter, is it applied pre-digital to actually prevent clipping? Does it have "look-ahead" like other models?

A: Yes. Page 55-56 in the manual for the Zoom R20 explains how you can set the limiter to prevent clipping. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/787205.pdf

Q: 4. How does this differ from the flash diffuser FD-1? Which is more useful?

A: They are similar in that they both redirect the camera flash - the LG-1 is advertised as safe for use underwater, the FD-1 is not.

Q: 5. Can this unit function like a loop pedal so thatI can record drum loops and the add other parts and have them loop like a loop pedal? That would be amazing if yes!

A: Yes, the Zoom R20 Portable Multitrack REcorder can be used like a loop pedal. It has 16 tracks (8 can be recorded simultaneously)and 150 pre-loadeded drum loops which can be adjusted and you can also create your own loops from recorded audio.

Q: 6. Softbox has it's own strap to fix it on the flash independently. Why do I need a separate cinch strap included in my bundle?

A: The cinch strap included with the Vello Octa Medium Softbox for Portable Flash with Cinch Strap Kit (8") makes it easier to mount and remove a variety of compatible accessories; if you will only use one accessory that has it's own strap, you won't need the cinch strap.

Q: 7. What is the input impedance on these XLR ports? Do they support a Hi-Z mode for guitar pickups? Trying to figure out the easiest way to add a DI for H5/H6

A: John is correct, the XLR/TRS inputs are not Hi-Z inputs for guitars. I recommend running guitars through a direct box and then into the XLR inputs of the Zoom.

Q: 8. In the pix, it only shows 5 inputs' levels. Can we monitor all 8 inputs' levels simultaneously? It's critical to see all levels

A: Yes. When using the Level Meter View Screen on the Zoom R20 Portable Multitrack Recorder, it is possible to monitor the audio level meters and faders for all 16 tracks.

Q: 9. does this work on TG4 underwater as well with its housing?

A: In a word, no. While I doubt it fits in the housing, if you are shallow diving without the housing then this advice from the Olympus website: Although the LG-1 can be left on the camera when underwater, it is not recommended as an underwater lighting accessory as the results would not be desirable. In my experience the LED system works pretty well in the dry world for bugs & flowers but not so much for shiny things. And the real bottom line and why I think Olympus advises against using it underwater is just a lack of power. They have recently introduced the FD-1 for the flash part and they actually recommend it for underwater macro work.

Q: 10. Does this fit the TG-4 model?

A: Yes, it fits the TG-4 just the same way it fitted the TG-3. Works great!
