The black Isomax 2 All-Purpose Microphone, Standard Gain with 3.5mm Locking Connector for Senal AWS-2000T Wireless Transmitters from Countryman features a frequency-independent capsule that delivers tight pattern control as an all-around instrument microphone. It can be used to capture audio in sound reinforcement applications for saxophone, violin, viola, cello, double bass, acoustic guitar, flute, piano, brass, and percussion instruments.

The Isomax 2 is built with exceptional gain before feedback and excellent rejection of the surrounding environment. It is lightweight, easy to use, and is designed to handle very-high sound pressure levels. It is supplied with a foam windscreen, basic clip, and carrying case. In addition, the 5' cable is permanently attached to the mic and terminates to a 3.5mm locking connector for direct connection to Senal AWS-2000T wireless bodypack transmitters.

Inside or outside musical instruments, placed on or hung over stages, and hidden in sets for theater, motion pictures, and TV, the mic can also be used as an audience mic or stage floor mic.

The microphone is sleek, small, and lightweight and will not distract the instrumentalist or the public. It is easy to hang without scaffolding, which eliminates the risk of bulky equipment falling on performers.

Very-low distortion at high SPL levels encountered inside instruments. It offers an uncolored and clean sound with a superflat frequency response.

The cardioid polar pattern is effective for picking up sound directly in front of the microphone and is less sensitive to sound directly behind the microphone. It picks up about 1/3 less ambient noise than the omnidirectional polar pattern, so the working distance (the distance a performer could be positioned from the microphone) is approximately 1.7 times that of the omni. The cardioid pattern works best when you can position the microphone directly towards the sound you wish to record (a lead singer, for example) and directly away from unwanted sound sources like a crowd or a loud monitor.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. can I use this with a usb mic?

A: No, the Zoom H6 All Black 6-Input / 6-Track Portable Handy Recorder with Single Mic Capsule will not support a connection from a USB microphone. In general, USB microphones are limited to direct connection to a computer.

Q: 2. Is this an H6 or H6n? What's the difference?

A: This is the Zoom H6. There is no Zoom H6n.

Q: 3. can I use an external battery with this recorder?

A: Yes, the Zoom H6 Portable Handy Recorder can be powered with an external USB battery pack.

Q: 4. Does the maximum allowable input level of +22 dBu (PAD ON) for inputs 1-4 apply to TRS only, or XLR as well? In other words, can the XLR inputs handle line level?

A: The Zoom H6 does take line level signal. You can apply the pad to XLR or 1/4'' signal coming in.

Q: 5. When I used it in my room ( it has very low echo ) but after recording I didn't get clear sound , is using the microphone windscreen will make it better ?

A: If your audio has a lot of rumbling and low frequency noise, or a lot of plosive noise coming from the mouth, a windscreen can help. If you are having other problems in the recording, there may be other issues with your setup causing that, and a windscreen will not help. Please contact us at audio@bhphoto.com , call in by phone, or chat with us, so we can help you get the most out of your Rode NTG3 microphone.

Q: 6. I've seen another link in B & H of this ntg3 rode but comes cn more articles and is in this link:a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1021282-REG/rode_ntg_3_rf_biased_shotgun_mic.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1021282-REG/rode_ntg_3_rf_biased_shotgun_mic.html/aIs there any difference or upgrade in these 2 shotguns? Both are 699 dollars but one has more accessories.Thank You.

A: The NTG-3 in black is the same model in the bundle as the mic available separately. When packaged in the bundle are able to offer a discounted price.

Q: 7. How do you choose the format for recording, either wave or mp3

A: It depends on what you are doing. WAV is a lossless, uncompressed, file, and so that would be the higher quality option. An MP3 is compressed, so it takes up much less space. Unless you're worried about space on the card, I would advise recording everything as WAV, you can always convert it later if you need MP3.

Q: 8. Does the Zoom H6 accept Sony XQD cards?

A: No, the Zoom H6 Portable Recorder will not accept Sony XQD Memory Cards. The H6 will work with the following card types and sizes: SD (16 MB to 2 GB) SDHC (4 to 32 GB) SDXC (64 to 128 GB)

Q: 9. Does the zoom h6 have zero latency monitoring through the headphone jack?

A: The Zoom H6 does offer latency free monitoring in both standalone and USB interface modes.

Q: 10. If I order the basic kit here, does it come with some sort of case for carrying the actual mic (and maybe even some of the accessories) in? Or would I need to explore elsewhere for properly storing it when traveling to different locations for shoots?

A: The basic kit includes the Auray Neoprene Boompole Bag for 34" Closed Boompole with Shotgun Mic and Softie (B&H # AUBPB34), which is designed to hold the boompole with the shotgun microphone, softie, and shock mount. The bag has an interior pocket for accessories and an adjustable shoulder strap.
