The Eco Capture Dual HDMI M.2 Two-Channel 2K Capture Card from Magewell supports two HDMI input sources simultaneously and allows you to capture up to 2048 x 2160 resolution with embedded audio from each source to your computer. Featuring an M.2 (PCIe 2.0) computer interface, this card provides the flexibility to be used in compact/thin tablet computers and other small form factor PCs where PCIe slots may be at a minimum. It's compatible with Windows and Linux operating systems and is capable of operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, while an LED indicator confirms the working state of the input the entire time (idle, input signal locked, memory failed, or FPGA configuration).


The Eco Capture Dual HDMI M.2 Card also offers many processing and other features, including resolution scaling and a high-fidelity pipeline. The card has two native FPC input connectors and comes with two matching FPC to HDMI type A adapters and two FPC ribbon cables for connecting your HDMI signals.

A: The Magewell USB Capture HDMI Plus is primarily used for live streaming and connects to a computer via USB-A cable for recording or live streaming. The Madewell USB Capture HDMI Plus does not have any internal storage.

A: This will depend on the software you are using to record and its capabilities.

Q: 4. can I connect my Rode RodeLink Wireless mic to this?

A: I have successfully used the Rode Rodelink wired lavalier mic (part of the Rode Filmmaker kit) connected to the mic in jack (with Zoom). In Windows it presents itself as an additional audio source. The video stream from the Magewell HDMI input will also present as an audio source if the HDMI input has audio.

A: Yes it will work for that.

Q: 6. Does this device get overheat after 4 hours? I can't see any vent system

A: We are not aware of any overheating issues. This can even operate between 32 to 122°F. There are no vents, but the heat sync within the unit helps.

A: Yes. This device allows the camera connected to it to be interpreted just like a webcam.

Q: 8. What video/QT format is captured on a computer?? Is it Jpeg or is it H264 or ??? And is the audio PCM 48K 16 bit?? don't want AAC......

A: This capture device does not effect recording settings. You would adjust these settings in the software you are using to record. I recommend OBS.

Q: 9. I am using the zoom teleconferencing software. Will one of these ran from my Macbook pro to the Atem Television Studio switcher work? To where you see all of the people or will it work to where you see only one person through the magwell?

A: This is a single input HDMI capture device. It will see whatever input you send it out of the HDMI Output. It is compatible with Zoom as well, but is only see the input it is given. Seeing the other individual on the screen would be done through Zoom software itself.
