This NiSi Starter Filter Kit contains two filters that can be used individually or in various combinations to improve the results of your photography when using a FUJIFILM X100/X100S/X100T/X100V digital camera. Included is a medium-edge graduated neutral density filter, which prevents overexposure in specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image; and a polarizer to prevent distracting reflections or glare.

To allow these filters to be used with a FUJIFILM X100/X100S/X100T/X100V digital camera, this kit contains a push-on filter holder that is designed to allow for the convenient use of up to two 40mm wide, 1.5mm thick filters.

A zippered pouch is also included to store and transport this kit.

  • Durable aluminum alloy, push-on filter holder provides two pairs of filter slots, a configuration that accommodates up to two separately available 40mm wide, 1.5mm thick filters
  • Each slot is designed to grip an installed filter only along the surface of the filter's edges, avoiding contact with a filter's front or rear-facing surfaces

  • Darkens bright areas of an image, such as skies, while leaving the remainder of the frame unaffected
  • 8x filter factor provides up to a 3-stop reduction of light in selective areas
  • Medium-edged line of transition between the dense and clear areas
  • Useful for images that include elements like rooftops and mountains that protrude into the sky
  • Filter does not affect coloration of the image and is ideal for use with other filters
  • Each surface includes one layer of NiSi Optical Nano Coating that attenuates infrared light as well as visible wavelengths to maintain color neutrality and suppress color casts due to increased exposure times
  • Nano coating provides an improved beading effect with water or oil for more efficient cleaning
  • Constructed from optical glass for clarity

  • Helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface
  • Polarizing filters arrange and filter directionally polarized light perpendicularly to the reflected light, allowing for the absorption of much of the light
  • Clears up haze in distant landscapes and provides more saturated, vivid colors
  • Strongest effect when used at a 90° angle from the sun
  • Recommended when not using in-camera exposure metering or autofocus
  • Reduces exposure by 1 to 1.5 stops
  • Constructed using optical glass for clarity

  • Designed to accommodate a compatible filter holder and up to four 40 x 40mm or 40 x 60mm filters
  • Soft, nonabrasive interior lining
  • Zippered closure
  • Durable, plastic construction with canvas-covered exterior

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. If I have the X100F should I upgrade to the X100V?

A: The x100F is still a very good camera. If the 3 extra frames per second and two extra megapixels is worth the cost to replace your current camera it could be worth it to you. If you are looking for a big upgrade you might consider going with a larger sensor camera.

Q: 2. Can I use the thumb grip for the x100F on the x100V?

A: Hi--the thumb grip for the X100F is not compatible with the X100V.

Q: 3. Can you wirelessly connect/upload to the cloud without using a phone or computer?

A: No, you cannot upload images wirelessly to the cloud without using a computer or smartphone with the FUJIFILM X100V Digital Camera.

Q: 4. can it zoom like the 100V 50mm or 70mm ?

A: The Fujifilm X100V has a fixed (non-zoom) 23mm f/2 lens. As this camera has an APS-C sensor size, the lens has an equivalent angle of view to a 35mm focal length in 35mm. The camera can simulate an an equivalence of a 50mm and 75 mm lens with the Digital Teleconverter function.

A: The Fujifilm X100 series of cameras are not supported in Capture One tethering.

Q: 7. can i use high speed uhs-i card? what is maximum speed to write faster? 170mbs or less?

A: The write speed is more important than read speed. This 120MB/s write speed would be the fastest currently: https://bhpho.to/38MUrzd

Q: 8. What is the quality of images taken with the digital teleconverter at 50mm and 70mm?

A: The image quality would be excellent when using the Fujifilm X100V with their dedicated conversion lenses.

Q: 9. Ho! Is this a leaf shutter system? Thanks

A: Yes. The X100V uses a leaf shutter rather than a focal plane shutter.

Q: 10. How lon does the battery last?

A: The battery life for stills is rated at 350/420 frames in the EVF/OVF Normal Mode. The battery life for video with face detection turned off is 45 mins for 4K and 50 mins for Full HD. With the face detection turned on, that is 55mm in 4K and 75mm in Full HD.

“The best camera is the one you have with you”. Up til now, it has been the X-E3 + 23mm/F2, which I’ve carried with me 24/7. Although I much prefer using the X-H1, it’s not a carry-it-everywhere camera.

After receiving the X100V, I compared the lens to the 23/F2 on the X-T3, and found center sharpness about the same, but edge sharpness was much better on the X100V. It’s possible that the X100V is corrected for flat field and the 23/f2 for curved field, but I didn’t test that (nor do I care).

My main annoyance is that the View Mode button has been removed, and there are so few function buttons available. And for the price, Fuji should have included the filter ring and lens hood. But in the end, it's a very satisfying camera.

New Fuji user here, is taking me a few days to get the feeling of it but so far it’s been great, I like the menu and the ease of use, missing a grip big time But is just me, overall a very fun camera to shoot with and I would recommend this puppy to anybody

The X100 line has been my favorite street, travel, and take anywhere camera since the X100T. The Fuji X100V main improvements include the lens, focus, viewfinder, and ergonomics. It also is now equipped with a flip screen and is weather resistant. Battery life has also improved. These items only address only a few of the improvements.

I've been using this camera since I got it on release day and I love it. Super light for travel and the quality of the images has no competition. It gets a little warm around the grip because of the battery but that's no issue for me and I haven't seen the temperature icon yet. Love the dials and how sharp the new lens is. This is the first time for me using the X100 line and I can't be more happy with it. I'm glad I waited this long for it.

This is my first Fuji camera and I have to say I am very impressed with the build quality and performance of the camera. After watching countless reviews on YouTube, I decided to take the plunge.
I was looking for a small everyday carry camera with a fixed lens, weather sealing and a quiet shutter. The X100V is definitely what I wanted and more, given its capabilities and features.
Finally, kudos to B&H for their quick fulfillment, service and expedited shipping. They are the best and why I've been using them for decades.
