The white B2D Directional Lavalier Mic, Low Gain, with Detachable cH-Style 4-Pin Connector Cable for Audio Technica Wireless Transmitters from Countryman features a lightweight 0.18-ounce body that was designed to be discreetly mounted and can be used for miking news anchors, actors in a film or theater setting, lecturers in a school or house of worship type environment.

The B2D's tight hypercardioid pattern gives the mic an extra 6-10 dB of headroom compared to an omnidirectional lavalier mic, which means less problems with feedback, ambient noise, room rumble, and phase cancellations when using multiple microphones.

This version offers the lowest gain for powerful vocals such as in opera, which requires a higher overload level. In addition, the B2D lavalier is equipped with a detachable cable that terminates to a cH-style 4-pin connector for direct connection to Audio Technica ATW-3201 wireless bodypack transmitters.

With its small size and sensitivity options, the B2D can easily hide behind a shirt button. This makes it invisible for film work, theater, live shows, or any other application.

Natural vocal reproduction and a tight polar pattern make the B2D ideal for broadcast and is a dependable workhorse you can count on to perform night after night.

The isolation clips minimize clothing and vibration noise while allowing 360° of rotation for easy positioning of the microphone.

This microphone is tuned to a frequency response that is natural and intelligible at a wide range of distances from the mouth. It delivers wonderful sound quality on the chest (8-10" from the mouth) or towards the collar (3-4").

Low (blue band, -20 dB re W4) for operatic vocals

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Do these pages fit in the Pioneer two post albums? it's not a three ring binder...Thank you.

A: The posts for the 2 post album should line up with the top and bottom holes on the 3 hole pages so it should fit.

Q: 2. will this work with a smallrig arca l-bracket?

A: Yes.

Q: 3. What is the diameter of the ball?

A: The specs don't say exactly but using the base diameter as a guide I would say the ball diameter is around 27-25mm.

Q: 4. The Boundary Microphone: I have a delightful number of Shure MX 391/O Boundary Microphones. If I use an adaptor, would I be able to use that microphone with the Zoom F2?

A: If you used an adapter that provided phantom power yes. The Zoom will not provide the power needed for you mics.

Q: 5. Is this compatible with the Manfrotto 502AH fluid head?

A: Yes, the SmallRig Manfrotto-Style Quick Release Plate with Arca-Type Mount for DJI RS Gimbals would be compatible with the Manfrotto 502AH Pro Video Head with Flat Base.

Q: 6. Are these pages for vertical (portrait) pictures?

A: Yes.

Q: 7. Can this record stereo if using an adapter for the mic input?

A: The F2 does record audio on two channels. When using the included microphone (which has a single mic element and a 3.5mm TRS locking connector) the audio recorded is dual mono, so it is the same audio on both the left and right channels. An actual stereo microphone uses two individual elements to deliver different audio on the left and right channels. Using an adapter for the mic input of the F2 may not provide actual stereo separation. Please contact us by phone or through live chat on the website if you would like further assistance.

Q: 8. Real world question, how durable is this? In other words, can you sit on it? (That's how lav recorders/transmitters are used..)

A: The Zoom F2 Ultracompact Portable Field Recorder with Lavalier Microphone is very durable. It is not recommended that you sit on it, as it comes with a belt clip for clipping to the belt line of the person who is using the lavalier microphone. You can also activate the 'Hold' setting on the recorder, in case any buttons are pressed during recording, the audio recording will not be affected.

Q: 9. Will this hold a Peak Design standard capture plate?

A: Yes, it will. Both are arca-swiss style systems.

Q: 10. would this be able to record off a dj soundboard?

A: The Zoom F2 Ultracompact Portable Field Recorder is intended for use with a microphone for recording mic level signal. A mixer's output signal is line level. In order to connect a mixer to the input of the F2, you will need to use adapters as well as a line-to-mic attenuator. Since the F2 has a locking 3.5mm TRS input, you can use the Sennheiser CL-1 Cable (B&H # SECL1), which has a locking 3.5mm TRS male connector on one side and a standard non-locking 3.5mm TRS male connector on the other side. Then, you can attach a coupler like the Hosa Technology GMM303 3.5mm Female Stereo Mini to 3.5mm Female Stereo Mini Adapter (B&H # HOASMFSMF). Since many DJ mixers have RCA output, you can use the Sescom Attenuating Line to Mic Level Cable - TRS Male to Male RCA, 18" (B&H # SES43DBMZ2P), which has a built-in attenuator to convert the line level signal from the mixer to mic level while also providing connections to the mixer's RCA output.
