The black Isomax 2 All-Purpose Microphone, Low Gain with 2.5mm Waterproof Locking Connector for Lectrosonics WM Wireless Transmitters from Countryman features a frequency-independent capsule that delivers tight pattern control as an all-around instrument microphone. It can be used to capture audio in sound reinforcement applications for saxophone, violin, viola, cello, double bass, acoustic guitar, flute, piano, brass, and percussion instruments.

The Isomax 2 is built with exceptional gain before feedback and excellent rejection of the surrounding environment. It is lightweight, easy to use, and is designed to handle very-high sound pressure levels. It is supplied with a foam windscreen, basic clip, and carrying case. In addition, the 5' cable is permanently attached to the mic and terminates to a 2.5mm waterproof locking connector for direct connection to Lectrosonics WM wireless bodypack transmitters.

Inside or outside musical instruments, placed on or hung over stages, and hidden in sets for theater, motion pictures, and TV, the mic can also be used as an audience mic or stage floor mic.

The microphone is sleek, small, and lightweight and will not distract the instrumentalist or the public. It is easy to hang without scaffolding, which eliminates the risk of bulky equipment falling on performers.

Very-low distortion at high SPL levels encountered inside instruments. It offers an uncolored and clean sound with a superflat frequency response.

The omnidirectional polar pattern picks up sound from all directions equally offering the flattest frequency response, lowest noise level, and is least susceptible to wind noise and vibration. It is recommended for recording and sound reinforcement of acoustic instruments such as percussion, guitar, saxophone, and piano.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it possible to plug multiple lavalier mics ?

A: Yes, you can plug in up to 4 mics (lav or otherwise) as long as they connect through XLR or in.

Q: 2. Does the Zoom H6 Recorder Podcast Kit with 1 enCORE Microphone come with both products in their individual boxes? Anyone know the quality of the XLR cable included? Thank you.

A: Everything will come in its original packaging from the manufacturer. The quality of the XLR cable is the second best in the product line and will work great for most aplications.

Q: 3. how many headphone jacks does the zoom h6 have? I would like to use it for on-the-go interviews for a podcast but I need the hosts to be able to listen and monitor themselves with headphones

A: The Zoom H6 All Black 6-Input / 6-Track Portable Handy Recorder with Single Mic Capsule has 1 x 1/8" / 3.5 mm TRS Female Unbalanced Headphone Output. With multiple listeners, a headphone splitter could be used. Conversely, a podcast-focused device such as the Zoom PodTrak P4 Portable Multitrack Podcast Recorder(BH #ZOPTP4PCREC) provides a similar amount of microphone inputs and four individual headphone output connections: https://bhpho.to/3GBmyj3

Q: 4. Can Zoom H5/H6 monitor both {mic inputs + Windows 10} simultaneously? I'd like to use XLR mics in my remote (virtual) presentations/meetings. I want to hear both myself (from the mic) and other attendees (system sound from Windows). In USB/interface mode, does the H5/H6 monitor jack simultaneously output (mix?) both my mic and Windows system sounds? Is that standard "interface" behavior? Do the H5 and H6 behave the same in this regard? (P.S. I wish to avoid "looping" or "overdubbing" or 3rd party mixers.) Thank you all kindly in advance.

A: Yes, but most video meeting software do not give you an option to monitor your own microphone signal.

Q: 5. Is the black rubberized body prone to degrading and getting sticky, as happens with the grey H6, the H4N, etc.?

A: No, the body is no longer rubberized. The material also was changed on the H4n Pro and H6 several months before they were discontinued.

Q: 6. Is there a Zoom model that will ALLOW external mic with a 3.5 mm jack WITHOUT bypassing on-board mics? So 2 mics sources for recording (to a dSLR)?

A: No. The 3.5mm jack will always disable the onboard mics. You can connect your 3.5mm into the XLR with an adapter, like the RODE VXLR, Use the VXLR+ if the mic requires plug in power.

Q: 7. can I use an external battery with this recorder?

A: Yes, the Zoom H6 Portable Handy Recorder can be powered with an external USB battery pack.

Q: 8. can I use this with a usb mic?

A: No, the Zoom H6 All Black 6-Input / 6-Track Portable Handy Recorder with Single Mic Capsule will not support a connection from a USB microphone. In general, USB microphones are limited to direct connection to a computer.

Q: 9. What is the frequency response range for the included xy mic? It's not in the specs & it's not even on the zoom h6 website. thx

A: The manufacturer has not provided frequency response ratings for any of the Zoom mic capsules, but I would estimate it to be 20 Hz to 20 kHz.

Q: 10. Is there any upgrades to the recorder itself or is it just a different color?

A: It's just a difference in appearance.
