Part of the ULX-D wireless series, the Shure ULXD4 houses a single digital receiver in a rugged half-rack unit with an external power supply.

The ULX-D Series simplifies the set up and management of large numbers of wireless systems. It is ideal for professional sound reinforcement applications in large live venues and houses of worship, as well as A/V installations in conference, educational, and corporate facilities. Compatible with a wide selection of Shure transmitters and mic capsules, it delivers pristine 24-bit/48 kHz digital audio, capturing every detail with clarity, accurate low end, and crisp transient response.

The ULX-D operates in the UHF band, utilizing Digital Predictive Switching Diversity to protect the transmission from interference, delivering rock-solid RF signal stability without audio artifacts. In Standard mode you can run up to 17 channels per 6 MHz TV channel, at a range up to 330'. Alternatively, the High-Density mode lets you run up to 47 channels per 6 MHz TV channel, at a maximum range of 98'. The system offers AES-256 encryption for security.

The unit features audio and RF meters, 60 dB of gain control, and both XLR and 1/4" outputs. A large LCD screen and intuitive controls let you quickly make adjustments, even in low-light situations. Additional features include automatic frequency scanning, IR sync, gain optimization to match any input source, and internal limiting to prevent clipping.

The Ethernet port allows multiple receivers to be easily networked together for simplified frequency coordination and deployment via Shure's Wireless Workbench software. In addition, the Channels Mobile App enables you to control the system remotely from an iOS device.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can the N8 video head be mounted on tripod with 3/8' screw?

A: Yes, this head will mount on a tripod with a 3/8"-16 Stud. It has a 3/8"-16 Thread.

Q: 2. Is this compatible with Arca Swiss Plates? From looking at the photos, it looks like they changed the design.

A: Unfortunately it is not. This tripod uses the Manfrotto 504PLONG and other plates of that style. It will not work with Arca Swiss Plates.

Q: 3. I have an R5 camera with a SmallRig L plate. What do I need to use it with Nitrotech 608. I need to also use RF 100-500L and RF 28-70 f2 L?

A: You can attach the tripod plate directly to the Smallrig plate. With larger, heavier lenses, it's recommend that you secure the tripod plate to the lens' tripod collar.

Q: 4. Which Plates are compatible besides the 504PLONG? Will they work with my other Manfrotto heads?

A: this is compatible with the Manfrotto 501PL Sliding Quick Release Plate with 1/4"-20 Screw

Q: 5. What is different about this from the Manfrotto Nitrotech N8?

A: The load capacity and many other features are the same as the N8. However this model offers upgraded fluid technology which enables smooth and judder-free pan and tilt movements thanks to a continuously variable drag performance.

Q: 6. is this compatible with sachtler flowtech75?

A: Just as long as you have a 75mm Half Ball Adapter, like B&H # MA520BALL, you will be able to fit this head on a tripod with a 75mm Bowl. https://bhpho.to/2hQRMbo

Q: 7. Will this still work if my camera weighs slightly under 4kg? Sometimes my rig weighs around 2.5 - 3.5kg

A: It will not. The load needs to be between 8.8 to 26.4 lb / 4 to 12 kg for the camera to properly balance. The only way you'd be able to use the head would be with it locked down, making it so you cannot pan and tilt for a shot.

Q: 8. What are the dimensions of this product? I see 5.8 height, but how long is it? How wide is it?

A: Widest 7 . Arm 14.5.

Q: 9. I just got my tripod with this head delivered. The tilt grag only turns about 3/4 turn from max drag to min. drag. When set to minimum drag, the head still bounces back up (with Nitrogen piston at minimum all--about 9 turns on that dial). Is something wrong with my head? Is there someway to get the drag fully loosened? I can't set the camera to not bounce back to level when I let go.

A: You have three adjustments. Two are for resistance which has nothing to do with stability of your camera. Resistance settings are only for resistance during a move. These are pan and tilt. When setting up the camera you should set these as loose as you can get them. Counter Clockwise is more resistance and Clockwise less resistance. The Nitrogen Piston setting is based on the weight of the camera. Again you need to set the Piston setting. Again clockwise tightens and counter clockwise loosens. Whe setting up the camera you need to be as clockwise as possible and then make sure that the camera plate and camera are balanced (not falling forward or backward). Once you have the camera balanced the turn the Nitrogen Piston Knob all the way counter clockwise and then back it off until your camera stablizes its position no mater what angle it is in. Then you can adjust the resistance to your preference. We have a rigging kit with follow focus and barn doors, so we had to add weight to the back of the rig for balancing. Normally you won't need to do this. If you have questions you can give us a call. 720-493-9966. Hope this helps. Bjarne Blume AVCOM Media Production

Q: 10. In the product video, he jumps onto a slider, anyone know what slider that is?

A: That appears to be a Syrp Magic Carpet Slider. https://bhpho.to/3jqwvpD
