Use this mic on YouTube, for Gaming, while Zooming, Twitching, and more.

This mic employs VERTIGAIN technology, which helps to increase quality and clarity. The vertical capsule design allows the soundwave to reach the 2 condenser capsules without being scattered by any microphone mesh.

The mic will operate right out of the box with your computer. No drivers are required to get up and running. No preamp, interface, converters, or mixer are necessary for recording your voice.

Choose between Cardioid and Omnidirectional polar patterns. Use the Cardioid polar pattern to minimize audio pickup behind the mic itself, which is great for focusing the mic on a single voice while minimizing room tone. If more than one person needs to be heard on something like a Skype or Zoom call, use the Omnidirectional polar pattern.

You'll note two prominent knobs on the mic itself. The lower one controls the headphone volume. The larger knob immediately atop the headphone control moves continuously between the polar patterns described above, and pushing it also mutes and unmutes the mic.

The mic has a headphone output. Simply plug your headphones into the mic's 3.5mm jack, and you'll hear your broadcast-quality audio in all its glory.

The mic captures audio at 96 kHz / 24-bit, which is the specification professional studios all over the world employ.

The mic offers an integrated stand for placing it atop tables and desks as well as a USB cable.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can it be use to live stream with OBS!

A: Yes. This device allows the camera connected to it to be interpreted just like a webcam.

Q: 2. Can this plug into a lightning port, for use with iPhone pro 14?

A: Yes, the JOBY Wavo PLUS On-Camera Microphone can be used with a Lightning adapter to enable compatibility for connection to an iPhone. You can use the included 3.5mm TRS to TRRS cable together with an adapter such as the Apple Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter (B&H # APLAADAP) or use the included USB-C to USB-A cable together with the Apple Lightning to USB 3.0 Type-A Camera Adapter (B&H # APMK0W2AMA) which also has a charging port to keep your phone's battery charged while recording.

Q: 3. Is this for storage of video - if so - what is capacity of storage in gigabits/bites ?

A: The Magewell USB Capture HDMI Plus is primarily used for live streaming and connects to a computer via USB-A cable for recording or live streaming. The Madewell USB Capture HDMI Plus does not have any internal storage.

Q: 4. someone at BandH: will this work with OSX Mojave?? and why does it get so hot?

A: Yes, this capture device should work fine with OS X Mojave. However if you are facing issues with it over heating feel free to email us directly at askbh@bhphoto.com.

Q: 5. Is the included custom cable a non-standard cable, other than its length ?

A: The included custom cable is a standard cable.

Q: 6. The custom USB3.0 cable that's included...is it A-A male?

A: Yes it is.

Q: 7. can I connect my Rode RodeLink Wireless mic to this?

A: I have successfully used the Rode Rodelink wired lavalier mic (part of the Rode Filmmaker kit) connected to the mic in jack (with Zoom). In Windows it presents itself as an additional audio source. The video stream from the Magewell HDMI input will also present as an audio source if the HDMI input has audio.

Q: 8. Is the audio embedded with the video so you don't have to connect another audio cable to your computer? Trying to connect this from a Sony HDR-AX33 to MacBook Pro 2018 to Zoom. I need both audio and HD video.

A: Yes, this will accept embedded audio over HDMI.

Q: 9. What video/QT format is captured on a computer?? Is it Jpeg or is it H264 or ??? And is the audio PCM 48K 16 bit?? don't want AAC......

A: This capture device does not effect recording settings. You would adjust these settings in the software you are using to record. I recommend OBS.

Q: 10. The specs state that for 4:4:4/4:2:2 input at more than 170 MHz, the horizontal resolution is reduced to 1/2 for capturing. What is the frequency of a 1080p 59.94 Hz 4:2:2 video signal?

A: The Magewell USB Capture HDMI Plus would work at 60hz for 1080p 59.94 4:2:2.
