A: Yes you can, but it doesn't work with all cameras. For my Canon LEGRIA HF G30 and LEGRIA HF G40 the zoom control work perfectly smooth. For focus control the focus change but in uncontrollable speed and the iris control don't work at all. For my cameras the 2.5 mm input is called REMOTE, for more professional cameras the input is called LANC. I think this remote controller works best with professional cameras and there can be some issues with semi pro cameras. I recommend to test before you buy.
