A: Hi, I own an x5 on my Inspire and Im pretty sure it does require one. I tend to not use one on my smaller 14-42 Olympus zoom. Best way to find out (besides someone answering that actually has a definitive answer) would be to check the weight of the lens and see how close it is to our factory 15mm pano/Leica knock off that came with the x5. The good thing is they are usually only $9-12 through DJI or B&H.

Q: 5. The specs for the Nikon 24 mm f/1.8G lens say the filter thread is 72 mm x 0.75 mm pitch. Most filter designations don't add a pitch. What does this mean? Will it take a normal 72 mm filter/step-up ring/step-down ring or is something additional required?

A: As far as I know, the filter is standard and have had no problems with any off the shelf filters. I also use the hood, with the filter, that came with the lens. I find the lens to be very sharp. It is slightly heavy but that is to be expected.As expected, I keep a UV filter on at all times, usually made by Hoya. I display my photos on a Sony 65 Inch Ultra High 4K TV screen. I use the 24mm Nikkor on the Nikon 5500 so it acts as if it were a 36mm on a full frame. Hope this helps.

Q: 6. Would this fit on the GH4? If so, would the autofocus work?

A: Yes, this will fit on all Panasonic micro four thirds cameras and the autofocus will work. This lens has a manual focus feature where you pull the focus ring back to engage manual, and push it forward to re-engage the autofocus. It's a nice feature for those who prefer manual focus or wish to critically focus their scene, but if you wish to keep it in autofocus mode at all times, that's okay. I rarely use this feature myself.

Q: 7. I was wondering if this lens could be used for sports and other fast moving action shots like aircraft at a airshow or racecars at a race track seeing that this lens hasn't got VR on it. A: With the correct 4/3 to Micro 4/3 adapter this lens could be used on your Panasonic Micro 4/3 body. AF speed however will be slightly slower than this lens used on a native 4/3 body.
